That entire trigger valve can be bought off Amazon for about $7 or $8. Just thought it would be worth mentioning..... Nice job on the video and Bostitch trigger rebuild! Sometimes people have to improvise when necessary.....!!!
I’ve watched several videos in trying to see how to remove the trigger valve and I must say, yours is the best one out there. It was complete, well filmed and showed me every detail I needed to see. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much! I’ve got an old Stanley Bostitch N60FN that was leaking air only when I depressed the trigger and it would not shoot out a nail. Showing how to all comes apart was just what I needed. I might just buy the whole trigger replacement assembly, since they are not that expensive, but it sure is good to see how the thing looks inside. Really appreciate the video. 👍
Just did mine Tva11, replaced the clear o ring ,with a new one I had at home . 10 minutes it was working. Thanks for the help. The new one I bought was tva 6 , witch was wrong.so I did this. And it worked saved 37.85$
Glad i found this, no time to order and this will help me make some money . If someone shows me how I feel I can fix almost anything . These kids now don't know how good they have it. Thank you for taking the time.
Glad to hear it worked out for you too. BTY. I did end up ordering the correct replacement valve assembly from eBay and haven't had troubles again since.
Hi and thanks for that, I have the same gun with the same problem. You are correct about the broken O ring in that it is made from some kind of clear silicon as mine was split not disintegrated like yours. I tried a rubber O ring with no luck and was about to order a new trigger kit but after watching your video I will have another go. What gives me the shits is that it seems that the silicone O ring is the main failure in the trigger but you can’t buy it on it’s own. Bostich no longer supply trigger kits for this gun but there are plenty of generic kits available. For what it’s worth this is my theory: I think that the silicone O ring was used as that ring takes the impact of the trigger returning and closing off the air so it has a lot pressure behind it. A standard O ring may not take that impact as well as the silicone ones. The trouble is that the silicone O ring seems to just breakdown over time. Like I said I am going to copy your example and we will see how long it lasts as I don’t use mine very often now. Thanks again, Stuart. Australia 🇦🇺
And when does it happen? When you have a major project to do, I haven't used it in many years but when it came time to rebuild my 100 year old porch she's hissing like a wild snake , I bought it when I built my shed and didn't want to nail a million nails by hand, I should be able to just use it as is then I'll fix it and get rid of it.
Same problem with my Bostitch finish nailer. The plastic ring was a bit more intact than yours, but it still has the same problem. Makes me wonder, if all the O-rings are still rock solid, why not use one there instead of the plastic bit. Or why not use some type of plastic that isn't so prone to rot?
Great video, I had a N80SB, same problem, I pulled the trigger apart and got P10A seal, but I can not work out how the seal fitted. It seem the seal is too big for a small inner cylinder
Harbor Freight Metric O-Ring Assortment Kit Catalog Item 67580 First O-Ring that still leaked: Metric #11 (7.8 x 1.9). Second O-Ring that worked: Metric #P10A (9.8 x 2.4) .... (This is close to 3/8" x 3/32") Harbor Freight Kit that also has this size: Nitrile O-Ring Assortment Catalog Item 67609
I have a Central Pneumatic roofing nail gun, 93253. I watched the clip and took it apart. There are two green bumper parts that deteriorated. One is a dampener at the very back, the other is a external dampener on the outside of the piston cylinder. I can not find a place to buy replacement parts. Major spare part suppliers do not list Central Pneumatic, neither Harbor Freight. Any idea? I believe that this brand uses parts that are designed for another brand. 2022-11-22
Well, those Central Pneumatic I think are the old school Harbor freight ones. if they can't supply the parts then ... Unfortunately, you're probably ready for the dreaded upgrade.
@@notoriousJPG thanks for your response. i will never buy central pneumatics. if i worked in a repair shop, i would know exactly what part number of which model would fit. central pneumatics did not create special standards for themselves only. they use existing parts.
Awesome. I'm going to do this but still want to order the trigger valve. Yours is the same as in my N80 coil but mine's about 25 years old. Is it a TVA6?
Peter Rowell I put a whole new trigger valve assembly in mine and still wont fire just spurt of air by the trigger but it doesnt leak unless the trigger is depressed.
I believe that was due to the actual trigger mechanism was not in place which is part of the safety interlock. He was just pushing the trigger's button.
Somehow, the safety element isn't working properly. That needs to be fixed , before someone gets hurt. Otherwise a very informative video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks a lot it was extremely easy the same thing was wrong with mine i had the orings driffrant brand but i guess ed the right one works perfectly. Thanks Again !!#
@@notoriousJPG great - I just purchased a harbor freight 18 gauge 2 in 1 nailer and stapler. use it to put up some new face boards on the house. it sure does makes things easier. keep posting and thanks

Thanks for the lesson and for going to the trouble of posting this video. Very informative.
Great video, I have the exact problem and thanks to you I'll have a easy fix. Keep them coming.
Thanks! I followed this to repair mine, all I had to do was take it apart and clean out some debris and put it back together.
Richard was air also coming out where the nail shoots out or trigger only?
I know this is a year old video but just did this to my N79ww Bostitch and works perfect with a new o ring same as you did.
Glad to hear it worked out for you too. BTY.
I did end up ordering the correct replacement valve assembly from eBay and haven't had troubles again since.
Thanks for your video. I fixed my nail gun without any issue.

Spot on Stuart . Same gun , same trouble , same solution .
@@Hiawatha3971 Thanks 👍👍
I used the green neoprene, smallest one that was thicker than the no. 10 to hopefully remedy the impact theory.

Thanks now I can fix my nailer good video keep it up
Thank you. It was helpful video. I fixed my BT35B
This is literally exactly what happened with my nailer, looks like a pretty common problem.
Nice job. I bought a box of 10 from Home Depot for $2.50
What size oring ??
Thanks man. Exact fix for my RN45b-1 roofing nailer
Awesome. I'm going to do this but still want to order the trigger valve. Yours is the same as in my N80 coil but mine's about 25 years old. Is it a TVA6?
Same as my strap nailer
That size o ring doesn’t fit snugly. I reassembled my gun. Now I get no cycling and a small quick spurt of air.
Peter Rowell I put a whole new trigger valve assembly in mine and still wont fire just spurt of air by the trigger but it doesnt leak unless the trigger is depressed.
Peter Rowell Peter I have same issue, did you fixed yours?
I have the same issue. Put in a smaller o-ring and it shoots but still leaks. Go one size bigger and it doesn't leak but won't shoot.
i tnk the part that your are seeing in youre trigger is the bumper thats inside the top part
Seems the safety interlock does not properly prevent firing until tip is depressed????

Sometimes my gun frires twice instead of once mite you know how to fix that ? Please let me know thanks
Love the music!
BTW: What kind of grease are you using?
Just a basic white lithium I think.
excuse me can you help me please?? my air gun isn:t working the nail do not
take out when I shoot. what can be only get out air but the nail not
i believe the plastic bits you found were the nylon backup washer for that o- ring.
It's an actual o-ring
Very helpful, thanks 👍
You're welcome.. I eventually replaced with a new trigger valve kit, but in the moment it got the job done.
