They did a good job of hiding our pre-colonial history from us but we are discovering our collective roots step by step! Checkout brother Jonathan for more info! ua-cam.com/video/o6H_IJ2D98o/v-deo.html Kongo is the real motherland of the Bantu people (including Africans in the diaspora community) Indeed we have a rich history to unearth.😊

    When your country and people didn't have opportunities for being well-educated, the new generation of that country fight toward an education. It's more of a priority.

    • @alexmlebepe3350

      You can never use that excuse to justify someone's lasiness in this day and time

    • @trish8321
      @trish8321 4 роки тому +1

      I'm just saying that because in first world countries it's more romanticized to be "self employed", "no need for a college degree to make it big", "look at all these successful dropouts", "I work home as an instagram influencer" etc... See that luxury exists in first world countries. To grind it until to make it huge, there's a bigger market, and bigger opportunity, bigger attraction, bigger payout.
      When you're from a third world or developing country, that level of opportunity doesn't exist. On top of that generations of your family, including your parents that lived through disadvantaged lives don't have that level of education, your community, your household... the only thing to get you out of that situation is that piece of paper. Because the country wasn't so well off to begin with, it's more common for businesses to rely on you having that degree.
      Most of the time parents will push you to go get an education because they know they want that better life for their child. That's why I said it's more of a priority. Just the general thinking of a country that didn't have equal rights, that didn't have basic human needs met to most of it's people.
      You look at countries where girls can't get an education, they're fighting for it because they see what will happen without it.
      Yes you're right it's no excuse, but place matters in the priorities and urgency people will have.

      @@trish8321 This is very true. That's why my generation of young South Africans we fought and were arrested, some killed with the government to grant free universal higher education and training. The movement was called #FeesMustFall. Today University, college etc is free. We did that because we know that education is not necessarily the key to everything but it is a key and is key nonetheless in becoming a better version of you and everyone should be afforded that equal chance of attaining it without financial barrier or other socio-economic barrier based on oppression and intentional exclusion hindering them.

      @aoc092 4 роки тому +12

      @@Kemet3.0 Actually, many countries in Africa learn about African histories of ancient African kingdoms- Ashanti, Mali, Shonghai, Hausa-Fulani, Old Oyo empires etc. alongside learning about the colonial period of our history. In addition, we have the traditional cultures and customs which we also grow up with and study. These are taught especially at secondary school level. Hopefully, even more of these will be included in school curricula across the continent.
