Everyone is a critic, but I assure you no one has a better idea of what wrong than the crew themselves. Everyone makes mistakes. Even the best sailors make mistakes. That's how you learn. I don't think they're looking for pointers. Anyway, cool video. Thanks for posting so that we can also learn from it. (EDIT: Anyone who has never been in a knockdown and f'd up a spinnaker isn't a racer).
Whoa, whoa, whoa, that’s a J80, you don’t run dead downwind with that boat. You don’t put the kite on one side and the main on the other. If you gybe the kite, you simultaneously gybe the main. No wonder they did a death roll! Jeeez, come on guys, get it togethah!
I love the part where he decides it might be a good idea to roll back the companionway hatch as the J80 transitions to overpowered submarine mode.... If you're wondering why there are so many cheap "former racing" J boats for sale with stress cracks everywhere - this video is a garden variety example of the J boat "racer" antics that create them- if the music sounds good when it's turned up to 9, then turning it up to 11 should always sound even better, right?
I think is more on the sail trimmer. the tension on the sheet was a little too much and in the moment the wind change to the other side, the spinnaker was almost fully in. the boat can not bear away in that moment
If you loose speed during the gybe you will kapsize . If you loose one of your Crew members in these conditions you habe a problem. Test it on a sunny day and you can see what happen. In 30 jears of these Sport ,often it was necessary to wear safty harness for All Crew members. I hope you understand these poor english. Good luck from germany.
Mit einigem Nachdenken ist es vollkommen klar, was Sie sagen wollen. Natürlich bin ich vielleicht nicht der beste Maßstab dafür. Ich segele und spreche Deutsch ziemlich gut.
@@jaysonlima7196 also auf deutsch.

Great wave... great. Music
Nice ride! Great music. I love the way you tried to pull the main sail over with your left hand :-)
Great fun :-D

Downwind is always fun and never an issue
Great video really enjoyed the gybing and music too.

music name?
great video, may I ask where and how you set your camera ?
Looks like a gopro attached to a stick that is in turn attached to the pushpit. Doesn't get in the way there. Usually.
& the captain called " Bring me my brown trousers!"
Sailors never have brown pants. Such things are fun
I`m wondering where and how did they set the gopro, so that the view is so good?
Diesel Zheng I cut an old ice hockey stick and placed a GoPro mount on the top. Then I taped it to the back of the boat.
@@LukasMohr Brilliant filming idea to match your skill.New technique got+1,thank you!
should have let out the spin sheet more both before and after the jibe
More like a broach that resulted in a gybe, rather than the other way around.
Great vid!
Nice vid
nice video
That's on the helsman.

You are scared to gybe yeah ??
Красиво
Basics, so many mistakes before and during gybe

Way too much spinaker sheet on!
Why bother gybing when a bad broach can do the work for you?
Nothing unusual on this boat, not watching closely.
Just looked a bit incompetent to me.......
"MUSIC" adds NOTHING to the video.
