Your self reflection is on point. I suppose jumping in the deep end will be fine as long as you dont give up and work really hard. I mean those u23 guys have to step up elite at some point anyways, and I bet they will ALL feel the same.

I'm not nearly as fast as you so take this with a grain of salt: you're not winning the 30' race, nor are you winning the race down the straights. You pick up ground very well in the turns but doesn't look like enough to subsidize the straights. I would suggest to anyone who rides with me in that situation to work 1st and 2nd straights, hard. Spin speed, power, and lines would be the only thing I tell them to focus on. The 2nd pedal out of the gate is the most important pedal stroke of the race.
