Converting something to 12 volt is a big and frustrating job. My brother does it to the odd old vehicle and everything needs to be changed or you have to use certain resistors or what ever he uses. I can imagine parts for your tractor are hard to come by but a huge benefit to going to 12 volt. Good to see you got it flanged before the snow flies. Thanks Dave. Stevo
Thanks Stevo, I really hate wiring so I had to really wrap my head around this. Now that I know it works I will be getting new cables for the old girl. Yes I'm definitely glad to get it going before the cold and snow. As we both know that will be soon
Your Allis runs and sounds great. It is a great idea to connect everything up to test before tidying things up. I assume that it is still the 6v starter and it is happy to run at 12v, it turned over strong. Great job
It sounds good. I hope you get Some tape on those positive wires they were awfully close to the frame ….. why do you need the ballast resistor? Does the coil have an internal resistor ?
Right. I will be replacing all the cables. I was just cobbling stuff together to see if it all worked before I went and dumped a bunch of money in it. No resistor in the coil
Hey Dave, Better you wiring that up than me Lol. I would have trouble wiring up a flashlight. It sounds pretty good. It is amazing how much steel was used in those old tractors. Was your place a dairy farm at one point? Take care.
Dave, when I read that title I thought you had lost your mind and installed a Tesla motor in your Allis. Well, in my defense, all I hear these days is EVs and solar power coming out of Washington. Peace brother.
Oh John I could go on a very long rant about this EV crap. Not that I hate EVs. I just don't want it forced on the public when we don't have the infrastructure for it. GASOLINE FOREVER!!! Take care my friend
@@davessmallenginerevival2847 getting things to work is a critical step in getting things to work correctly. Many never get that far. Mr Pender’s video today was a good example of someone who got to the battlefield then didn’t know how to fight.
That starter sounds really strong now, and that's a good thing. I enjoyed seeing the hummingbird too... right before you came back for the camera.
Thank you Timmy. Good to hear from you

Thank you. It's my work horse and it's been down all summer
@@davessmallenginerevival2847 you had the parts, but you previously did not have the need. You know what they say “Necessity is a Mother”.
@@haneyoakie14 I hope you are doing well Thomas

Yes I think it was a dairy farm but I'm not 100% sure
