This is what I think a lot of people need to clarify when they say a certain gpu like the 4060 and stuff being “terrible” they aren’t terrible they are still amazing gpus but it’s more expensive than others
Got one in laptop version for a budget on the go gaming setup, for $600 about a year ago it was a great deal and I stand by that. Plus I wasn’t breaking the bank on a gaming laptop that probably won’t last me a very long time like my pc. There is value in every card, especially when considering prebuilts and laptops on good deals.
Every card you mentioned is more expensive in my country. The RX6600 was +80$ wheni bought the 6G version of the 3050. The costs of the Arc750 is enough to buy a 3050 6G/RX6500 in my country. 3050 6G was a little bit more expensive when i bought it than the 6500XT,but costs less than the RX6600.
In my country the RTX 4060 TI (8gb) cost as much as the rx 6750 xt so it's very cost effective if we include all of the Nvidia's benefits like dlss, frame gen, recorder and ray tracing
I have the RTX 3050 8GB Phoenix Its a HUGE improvement over my old dying Radeon RX 580 8GB I got it for far cheeper than what its normally sold for, around $140. Its a dream
I think the only reason on why people would even get this card is because it's a "RTX" gpu, it's like to me when rappers brag about having a Lamborghini but in reality they have the Lambo Truck (The cheapest Lamborghini to get) that's all I have for this discussion.
One of my friends gave it to me, as he was upgrading, and before that it was his dads, he upgraded a few months later! So I think considering it was free im doin good
People say the same thing to me about my 2070S. I have an older already built rig so it wasn’t really an option. But this card can run practically anything for me so either I play potato games or it’s a fine GPU.
Got back into pc gaming with a used omen 30L , snagged a 3060ti for $150 to upgrade from the 1660 super that was in there . Shared my build on reddit and was met with instant pushback that the AMD counter parts were 100x better
I got a laptop with a 3050 ti at a pretty good price, and it's quite serviceable. I purchased this before I knew as much as I do now, and I am looking to upgrade, but really; it's a fine card.
In Poland its like 200-250 pln cheaper 50-70 USD, the the RTX 3050 is good if you want dlss 2 and pretty nice ray tracing then take it. (The 6gb version) but it's better to overpay for Rx 6600 as the price to performance would be incredible
I messed up big time, i got a laptop with 4 GB 3050, and then got a 1440p monitor... Now I am more educated and hopefully not make the same mistake again...
@@ItsAryax it’s actually better to use a monitor with most laptops because for a few reasons. 1) bigger screen. 2) the monitor is usually directly connected to the laptops graphics card, while the laptop screen is connected to the integrated graphics, meaning that even if you process frames with your dedicated graphics card the integrated graphics bottleneck the fps. Some laptops have a setting to prevent this but lower budget ones don’t so getting a monitor is worth it for a lot of people
I paid $100 for it used for an 8gb. Saving up for a 4060. I've got a 2060 on the way to replace it for a bit from a marketplace trade until I can afford a new card.
I got mine during the GPU shortage for 400 bucks on Amazon as it was the only card available except for Intel ark and I at the time only heard negative about the drivers so that's why I chose the 3050
In Germany in stead of the 3050 you can get an a580 which is around the same price and is slightly better than the 3050 and the rx6500 which is another competitor for that price range but if you want ray tracing you should go with the 3050
I've bought mine about 2 years ago cuz i had no other option. At the time the 3060 and 3050 were about the same price but my psu couldnt handle the 3060 and i couldbt afford at the time buyibg both psu and a gpu so i just went for it knowing i will regret it at the end
I bought my pc in 2019 I got an rtx 2080ti, with intel i9 9900k, this thing has kept up with almost every game I threw at it, but it’s starting to struggle, I thought I could just replace the gpu cause my cpu was top of the line (at the time), but it’s looking like I’ll need a bigger case for more recent gpu’s, so I guess I’m buying a whole new build
If all 3050 were less than 75W and low profile they would be the best car in SFF cases, that's why I got the other bad donkey RTX 4060 but the LP model cuz I wanted SFF build and this is only option
A lot of people don't realize the RTX 3050 is the successor to the GTX 1650 and it's certainly a cut above; especially with DLSS and ray tracing. Performance is similar to a GTX 1660 Ti or a GTX 1070. Regardless, he's right, (new) the RX 6600 is a better value and if you're an Nvidia only guy, I'd put the couple extra bucks out for the RTX 3060. I did put a RTX 3050 6gb in my son's HP computer with Ryzen 4300G. However, with a proprietary case, motherboard and power supply, I didn't really have a better choice.
The 3050 really cant do raytracing, it cant even do it on war thunder low settinfs. It will run the game fine on high or even max settings but not low graphics with ray tracing
I got a used 3060 for 200(only bought it because of that pricing of course) I think that’s pretty good considering they are around 300 new and a 3050 is the same price
I have an ASRock B550 Pro, a Ryzen 5 5600G and an RX 590. I’m new to the PC world and also pretty young so I would like to know if there’s a good upgrade path for me or at least get some upgrade advice. I’ll mainly be playing Roblox, Source engine games, VR games, etc. I’m not primarily running the most recent and most intensive games, I’m very “basic” with my library anyway, but I could use the extra headroom at least with my GPU.
The fact that you don't play intensive games gives you even more options. You already have a very capable AM4 build, all you need is a better GPU. I recommend the rx 6600 because it's just so much value for so little money, you'll be able to play anything with very respectable settings. If you can spare 250 dollars then an rx 7600 is even better. Since you have a 5600g I wouldn't go higher than an rx 6750xt or rtx 400ti. If you wanted me to pick for you I'd just go with either the 6600 or 7600 because since you don't play graphically intensive games, you don't need to spend that much money.
I do use this but I have a perfectly good reason. I use a sff optiplex and my original plan was to use the 4060 sff but I found out recently that I don’t have an external power cord for gpus so my only decent option was to go with the 3050 sff
I have an RTX 3050 laptop for editing but i do some gaming time to time and the card holds up really on the AAA titles I play like RDR2 , GTA V , God of war etc... with on 4gb Vram
Hi Zach, Im not sure if youve done one already, but could you please do a review on the "dell Invidia geforce gtx 1080." My mom recently bought a prebuilt Alienware aurora r7 from some pc builder but the parts in the build were different than an ordinary aurora r7.

I learned my lesson when I bought mine almost same day got home and one of my friends laughed so after that I’ve studied pc components in terms of how they can perform so much more and when I build for the second time it will blow my current out for a lot cheaper
Also keep in mind that depending on the country prices can change for 100 reasons
Comparing to used is not a fair comparison though. Comparing MSRP makes more sense.
GPUs don’t usually sell for MSRP though
@@SkillfulNick It's a standard metric.. comparing used to new is apples and oranges.
@@Alacritous I understand that comparing used to new isn’t a fair comparison, but I don’t believe we should compare based off of MSRP, because they don’t usually sell for MSRP. The 40 series Nvidia cards and 7000 series AMD cards consistently sell for about 10% less than MSRP, but for example the 7900 GRE only sells for about 5% less than MSRP, so if we compared them using MSRP we wouldn’t be comparing the actual prices you can purchase them for
@@SkillfulNick It's just a method of comparison.
Zach, do you have any car guys around the building? I feel like automotive in this format would be great for people learning cars too! Maybe in the future
I got a 3050 6GB for an Optiplex gaming pc. Since it doesn’t require external power, it was the best option as I wanted the best GPU available with a 250w non-upgradable psu. It works great, no regrets
Me chilling with my rtx 4060 questioning how I got to where I am when it comes to budgeting
The 3050 falls into the “I have a GeForce RTX” crowd
I got a 3050 for msrp ($250) after launch during the crypto shortage. 6600s were going for 450 at the time. I plan on buying an rx 8000 gpu in a few months though or maybe a used nvidia gpu since i do look forward to that hl2 rtx remix mod.
Might be better off buying now before the tariffs kick in, or buy a used rx 7000 series when the new gen drops
Nice
I didn't know 3050 were good that time
Nice
I didn't know 3050 were good that time
So many great vids and shorts!😊
Hey Zach, since fish tank PC cases are such a favorite among the PC building community, why don’t any of your prebuilts have them?
Where i live gpus are so expensive like 1 whole paycheck for a fresh graduate
When i did buy my laptop (dell g15 5530 ) for university (yes making personal projects is not easy for machine learning and internet is not great) the 40 series didn't arrive to my country and the very few ones were so expensive
Bro caught HIMSELF in 4k
In my country the RTX 4060 TI (8gb) cost as much as the rx 6750 xt so it's very cost effective if we include all of the Nvidia's benefits like dlss, frame gen, recorder and ray tracing
I have the RTX 3050 8GB Phoenix
Its a HUGE improvement over my old dying Radeon RX 580 8GB
I got it for far cheeper than what its normally sold for, around $140. Its a dream
What would be a good monitor to pair with the PC you made in the $475 Gaming PC Build Guide 3 months ago?
This dudes 'budget' graphics card worth half my whole pc, props to him
I messed up big time, i got a laptop with 4 GB 3050, and then got a 1440p monitor... Now I am more educated and hopefully not make the same mistake again...
I have a 2gb 1050ti laptop
laptop? then monitor?
what?
I bought a 1440p 144hz monitor for my laptops 10th gen integrated graphics😂
@@ItsAryax it’s actually better to use a monitor with most laptops because for a few reasons. 1) bigger screen. 2) the monitor is usually directly connected to the laptops graphics card, while the laptop screen is connected to the integrated graphics, meaning that even if you process frames with your dedicated graphics card the integrated graphics bottleneck the fps. Some laptops have a setting to prevent this but lower budget ones don’t so getting a monitor is worth it for a lot of people
@Mr_Elili oh thanks I didn't know
I paid $100 for it used for an 8gb. Saving up for a 4060. I've got a 2060 on the way to replace it for a bit from a marketplace trade until I can afford a new card.
If you got it for good price, it was worth it, if you got it for the normal price, you got ripped. The GPU itself is a good budget GPU
I got mine during the GPU shortage for 400 bucks on Amazon as it was the only card available except for Intel ark and I at the time only heard negative about the drivers so that's why I chose the 3050
In Germany in stead of the 3050 you can get an a580 which is around the same price and is slightly better than the 3050 and the rx6500 which is another competitor for that price range but if you want ray tracing you should go with the 3050
A580 eats a lot of power also underperforms with Ryzen CPUs
The 6GB version price is sky diving here for as low as $150
I've bought mine about 2 years ago cuz i had no other option. At the time the 3060 and 3050 were about the same price but my psu couldnt handle the 3060 and i couldbt afford at the time buyibg both psu and a gpu so i just went for it knowing i will regret it at the end
There's also the question of whether this buyer is from the states or not
Here in Indonesia, all of the GPUS are more fairly priced apart
Love this channel!
A wise guy said "There are no bad graphic cards, only bad priced"
@@wd40swift it can on cyberpunk w 40 fps(6gb variant)
@@ItsAryax that's not particularly good or really all that playable for that kind of game
@@wd40swift maybe for you
but the laptop version does it at like 4-5 fps so i thought u were talking abt that
If it was priced around €120 ($125, I'm not American), I would buy it.
it's good for budget baller Content creators like zach himself💀
I got my Zotac RTX 3050 Twin Edge OC 8GB during 2022 crypto era for 250 dollars msrp. I am still happy with the card and it runs everything I want.
Only would kinda recommend it for getting a laptop with a low budget
I got a used 3060 for 200(only bought it because of that pricing of course)
I think that’s pretty good considering they are around 300 new and a 3050 is the same price
Zach, tell the WORST gpu in Terms of like build quality, thermal issues, etc(i guess u got my point)
My 2060 SUPER still giving me great preformance.
it's all about the pricing
no one would have complained if the 3050 priced at 150 usd or less
Imagine when the Ryzen 5070 releases, greatest GPU ever
RX 6600 for your GPU, your welcome.
It doesn’t really matter. In a few years people will forget about the 3050 just like we all forgot about the 20 series.
That might be wrong because RTX 50 series will be expensive
I still daily a 1060 and she runs fine, not spectacular but good enough till life get better
I bought a 3050 2months ago and I see a video like this the next day. Me regretting every second of it😢
As a laptop user rtx3050 notebook gpu is the best bang for the buck for something priced at $500
Meanwhile raytracing: am i a joke to you
I like that he mentions about the country cuz here in my country nvidia is wayyyy cheaper than AMD also 3050’s are arguably well priced
I do use this but I have a perfectly good reason. I use a sff optiplex and my original plan was to use the 4060 sff but I found out recently that I don’t have an external power cord for gpus so my only decent option was to go with the 3050 sff
I went from integrated Ryder 5 5600G graphics to a Rtx 3050 6gb, wanted to get a graphics card but not risk much money as I’m new to computing
I bought a 3050 with a very nice price but people still doesnt seem to understand the "very nice price" part 😂
i have a i5 2500 with a gtx 1080 and it still plays modern games at 90 fps on high settings like medival dynasty and cyberpunk
GT 710: yeahh… i’m both of those.
Should I buy a new 4060 for $250 (in my country) or wait for a 50 series card. Rx 7600 is also priced around and above $250.
you could see the dissapointment when he read "rtx 3050"
Here in Romania you don’t have any better GPU in this price range. And should I upgrade from a 3050 to a 4060 or 3060? (I’m nvidia fan sorry)
I have an RTX 3050 laptop for editing but i do some gaming time to time and the card holds up really on the AAA titles I play like RDR2 , GTA V , God of war etc... with on 4gb Vram
@@thatoneidiot6973 damn what do u edit
Hi Zach, Im not sure if youve done one already, but could you please do a review on the "dell Invidia geforce gtx 1080." My mom recently bought a prebuilt Alienware aurora r7 from some pc builder but the parts in the build were different than an ordinary aurora r7.
Used 2080 supers cost like $200-250
I definitely made this exact mistake but finally got a better gpu.
What’s the difference between psu’s fully modular ?
after watching this it made me realize, any gpu is good if you don't compare it to any others.
it's also a really cheap cuda card with 8gb vram... have one in my server for cuda tasks... it's not time critical, so i don't want to spend more than i have to... also temperature is a thing...
Can you convince my mum to buy me 3D printer for Christmas. I want to do it as a hobby.
