I ordered this 2017 Shimano Scorpion DC straight from Japan. This is by far my favorite DC reel that I have ever bought. This was also my first JDM and DC fishing reel that I ever purchased. When I first got this reel there were no DC reels in the U.S. market. They were harder to get your hands on and were more of a nitche. This reel has the DC5 braking system in it which is step up from the curado DC. The scorpion DC is currently my favorite DC reel. If you haven’t tried a DC reel It’s just one of those things you have to try especially because they are readily available. Then you can make your own decision. I’m a fan!

I have heard to enjoy the full DC experience one should buy the Shimano scorpion.. I am newbie to baitcasters & I'm tired of my lews backlashing..
The DC will help with backlash. You can still backlash the DC though. It just happens less often. There a lot of Advantages in my opinion to fishing a DC. One of the main ones for me is not having to adjust your reel when you change lures.
Hey which scorpion DC doesn't have the zzzzz sound is it 2020 version or the 2017?? I just ordered the 2017 version.. I just hope it's gets here way before October..

What’s your thoughts on this one vs the new scorpion? Was wanting to grab one as I heard great things about the 17’ model.
I haven't fished the new Scorpion. The 17 model is one of my favorite reels though. They made some upgrades to the new model for sure. It also still has the same DC5 breaking system. I haven't grabbed the 21 scorpion DC yet. I am still pretty happy with my 17 model. The 21 also has more line capacity, pretty sure its a 150 size reel vs the 100 size. Best I can tell you since I dont have one yet. I hope that helped you out some.

It did help, I been looking into the two and the SLX DC and narrowed it down to the Scorpion, a lot of people enjoy the 17’ version even over the newer one from what I’m seeing. I’m thinking I pull the trigger and just get the 17 as it’s the same price better body style ect. Ect. I appreciate you brotha
@@davidzimmerman4156 I have the SLX DC as well. I like the Scorpion better. I would let you try mine if I if could. Yea, its tough to beat that 17 model, its just one of them reels. No problem at all!

Try Ebay, thats where I got mine. Since it's a JDM only you might be able to find the real online on some of the Japan Tackle shops.
