  • Vintage Trains commemorated the 60th Anniversary of ‘The Great Western High Speed’ Ian Allan railtour, which took place on Saturday 9th May 1964, with a special two-day tour that on day one ran from Birmingham Snow Hill to Plymouth via Oxford and Bristol Temple Meads.
    This video shows 7029 ‘Clun Castle’ race through the centre roads at Totnes on the final leg of the journey.

      So are in Plymouth at the moment & where was the customers hotel

      @@fab9202 passengers had to sort out their own accommodation, it was not included in the fare.

    The smoke was really ashy this afternoon - suspect a bad batch of coal. Probably explains why we barely made it over Dainton at walking pace 😂

      It was smoky! Just a shame there’s no more Welsh coal! 😞
