I kid you not, I figured this out the first time I put it on and have been recommending that people try it since then.
I got the elite battery strap with my quest 2. It isn't a perfect counter weight, but it's pretty damn close. Love it so far.
I love the quest 2. But don’t like the strap. My 6 year old daughter was jumping around with te Quest. And after three jumps the Quest felt off and crashes on the ground. Gonna watch the video now for some tips.
@@Frank-Y I figured this one out before the video came out but the idea is great, push down the wings and put the strap slightly below the back of the bump on your head or on it.
@@nephriumgaming4566 it's not really %100 necessary, I already have a 10000mah battery pack and it's quite small, I fit it in a fanny pack around the behind of my waist. The headstrap battery is $130 albeit with a case, and only has apparently around 5000mah.

I will still use my original quest or give it to a buddy but my quest 2 came in today and there is some sort of dirt spec on the INSIDE if the lense and im not too sure what to do as i don't wanna have to return it and wait for another.
the fact that there needs to be a video called "HOW to wear the Oculus quest 2 STOCK strap" means maybe it isn't good orrrr intuitive?!

I mean this isn't really how it is intended to be worn, it is just the more comfortable way. But yes the quest 2 has a lot of negative aspects.

I had no idea the arms could tilt. I was being to careful my new Quest 2, so I avoided trying. I was afraid of breaking it, lol. Does this solve the issue of having so much pressure on my face?

I followed info on tilting the arms and like you was like "this is actually rather comfy" I expected it to feel sore after an hour but na. Just kept on going with zero issues.
Yeah it's weird. I feel like it shouldn't remain in that position but it does.

The strap is still uncomfortable, but I can put up with it until I can get the elite strap delivered in Australia.

Honestly I am surprised how comfortable the stock strap is. Played with it for a few hours and no pain at all. Only reason I would switch would be for the extra battery on the elite battery strap.

Thanks! I got mine today and totally agree that the strap isn't bad at all. I think overall its a huge comfort improvement out of the box over the quest 1. I also got the elite battery strap but just haven't had the chance to try it out (darn job).

I’m getting my quest 2 next Monday! (Supposedly, it said that when I ordered it, which was surprisingly only a handful of days before launch.) but I guess we’ll see
I kind of figured this all out just from experimenting with it. But it is still uncomfortable after a while but manageable. For me the issue is more the heavy pressure on my face and unbalanced weight. I just need it more loose but doing that causes the sweet spot to be lost as it slides a bit

Thanks for the tip! I've been wearing a thick hoodie with the hood up to make it more comfortable, but it was still pressing uncomfortably into the soft spot on the back of my head. I haven't had a chance to test it out, but I'm excited because it'll definitely help until I can get a more balanced strap

Amazing thank you, I forgot that the arms of the quest move and that was the component I was forgetting to get it comfortable! Now that I have it all adjusted it's even closer to my face so more FOV+less light leak. My eyelashes kind of touch the lenses though so maybe I could loosen it a tad...

Bought the HIJIAO quest 1 pad and the results are brilliant. Fit is much improved and gives you a means to pull the strap into place without grabbing the clean white strap 😉

I do the "Over the ears" method but I had some velcro-on neoprene cable management sleeves that I trimmed to fit from a giant roll I had, gave the top and back of the straps some more padding and I've already gone through probably 6 charging cycles with it! My head isn't shaped right so this method barely doesn't work for me 😅

I have always used the elite strap but it broke yesterday and this video actually helped thanks
Simple solutions are often the hardest to come up with, so thanks! On the other hand, that's what I do with the Oculus Go, which also has an elastic textile strap. However, that one has double support in the back and adjustments on both sides. Even so, it took me days in the beginning before I learned to put it on comfortably with the glasses. It'll be interesting to see if the standard Q2 strap is even worse than that ;)
I do think the Go strap is meant to be better than the Q2 strap. I was a fan of my Gear VR strap which was the same
See, I knew there was a way to use this strap in a comfortable manner. I use a Cpap and it has a very similar strap system that took me a while to get right. Can't wait until I get my quest, should be Saturday. Thanks for the tip VRC.

Glad it helped. I do tend to wear it a little lower down the back now but still above the ears and moving the arms is still a must.
@@VRCauldron I also had a issue with light coming in from the nose part. That issue is also fixed. I was actually just playing beat saber, and SuperHot. And it felt way better!

Wow, that helped me so much. Now the Quest 2 is comfortable to wear.
Honnestly i prefer this strap, on the quest 1, when i tried it for several hours, i couldn't get it on without putting sebum on my lenses, i had to undo the scratch put it on and redo.
Now i just stretch the strap a bit and it's absolutely perfect ! The real problem is the IPD adjustment it's not normal they did so few presets when they already had an amazing mecanism
I do wonder how much more the old mechanism costs. The new one is clever just not ideal.

Cheers Al. Got my Quest 2 + battery strap yesterday. Tried the stretchy strap first and I found it more comfortable than I was expecting. I think its biggest downfall is it's colour. If they'd had made it a mucky brown then it would have looked newer for longer :D. The battery strap is much nicer though. It takes a lot of pressure off your face and you can adjust it so it's only lightly touching the cheeks if you want (at least on my bizarre head).

Yeah it's basically how I wore my gear VR but the arm thing makes it better.
Gonna be honest I got my oclus quest 2 yesterday and I couldn't stand the strap for more then 20 mins it hurt badly but with this huge tip it feels so much better trust be told not perfect but for sure a lot better. Kinda like you im still going to pick up a elite strap with battery for the extra comfort

Thank, gotta try this tomorrow. My headset keeps falling down a little bit when I am moving my head a lot and rotating and stuff in blade and sorcery and after a while everything is blurry so I hope this is the fix I am looking for.

bought an oculus today not knowing if i should buy the elite strap too but i ended up not and the normal strap isnt even that bad, i played for like 2 hours and it felts super good and only started feeling a bit heavy after an hour but it wasnt even bad
Nice! I haven't tried the elite yet but I bet it also feels a bit heavy after an hour because the q2 is still more front heavy than a non standalone headset.
