I have a 2020 forester and I live in Canada. Only complaints I have is when I put the thermostat at low (20 degrees celcius) it's cold as it is supposed to be, but when I put it at 20.5 degrees celcius it's hot. The next car I will buy in about 5 years, or more depending on how I feel, I will make sure I have control over the temperature. That and my windows getting stuck in the winter even though there is no apparent ice from the outside. One thing that almost made me change my 2020 forester for a 2024 outback was the noise. You can hear wind noise all over the place. Other than that, I've had zero issue with my forester. Other than the thermostat control valve repair which was under warranty.
Oh man the noise! Yeah my next video is about that it certainly can get noisy at times. I also have a feeling that the foot air vents barely have any air flow going there my feet are always cold
@@subarudrives That is true. There is very little air aimed at our feet. My brother's 2024 tesla model 3 doesn't even have air at his feet though, so I guess having some air than zero.
My ascent has 50 000 km. I tow my travel trailer all summer long that weighs 3800 pounds dry. Fingers crossed. I do plan on changing the cvt oil at 60k
I find there is a mild vibration in the vehicle when the CVT is cold. It goes away at exactly the same place on the highway when I'm driving home. Weird.
@@subarudrives Weird, isn't it? And it doesn't have much to do with engine temperature. I warm up my Forester for about 5 or so minutes, then hit the on ramp a minute later as it's really close. First several miles there's a distinct vibration then right at a specific place....smooths out nicely. I can bank on it. As my car is new, I'm assuming things will change?
Mine was awful, got rid of it. Mom had one too and her cvt was jerky. Also got rid of it. Two of my friends are subie master techs and tells some pretty harrowing tales about them. However, it should be noted of course that techs are only ever going to see the problems. Still...
@subarudrives mind always tried to learn how I drove, or something. I drove mostly highway so I'm the city it just didn't know what to do and would gear hunt, which is funny because its CVT. It was also pretty jerky at times. The issue would go away for a bit when I reset the learning via a battery reset but it would try and learn again and lend to a pretty awful experience in general
@ it’s on the left side of the dash when u start ur Subaru “The Blue Engine Coolant Warning Temperature Light comes on when you start your Subaru, it just means that the engine is not warmed up yet. You'll most likely see this light every time you start the car. Until it goes away though, you should drive gently.”
@@subarudrives Thanks for your reply. That would be very handy to have! I've never seen that light on my 2024 Outback XT, which is a bit strange as that seems like a good feature.
I have 2018 2020 2022 2024 Subarus. CVT works perfectly. Also was good in 2014 I owned then traded.
Sounds great! Hope I have a similar experience ☺️

Yes fingers crossed! By the way can two adults fit in that third row comfortably?

Omg u right I also noticed it and also when it’s cold and not every time

@ how many miles is on the odometer? Mine is right under 2000
@@subarudrives Just under 8000.

What was awful about yours if u don’t mind me asking?

My 2023 Forester Wilderness runs just fine.
Make sure you let it idle until the blue light goes out before you drive.
How’s the ride quality on those stock wilderness tires?
What blue light? Is it on the dash or on the screen?
