I find it humorous that people think they can guess what Stevie Y will do. Stevie probably got is eye on some late 1st round or early 2nd round guy that other teams don't see the potential in but will blossom into a really good NHL player once Stevie puts him in the Wings system.
Yooo LFG! I like nazar, but can he be a 2c or a center overall? The right shot helps, even if he finishes as a top 6 RW. It’ll come down to how the draft shakes out when/if he gets to the wings if we pick 8-10 range. If a RHD is there like nemec or jiricek I’m taking one of them over nazar
Yeah I agree with you on the center issue with Nazar, but he has played center in his Junior time and if Yzerman thinks he has the talent and wants him to develop into a center I think they can and he will have pretty close to every tool imaginable to develop his skill set into the player the wings want him to be. The few mock drafts I’ve seen so far had us going for Nazar when he was there it appears a lot of people think he’s our guy, but a lot of people thought with Eklund and Wallstedt a year ago and both times the wings were on the board at least one of them were available and neither were selected. So we will see for sure. #LGRW
Going to be an interesting draft for us in the first round cause as we seen in the last 2 drafts Steve kinda went off the board a lil bit when choosing seider and then chose edvinson as he believes that’s his top pairing for the future so can’t wait to see what he does in draft day whether move up or down or not at all
Right now Conner Geekie reminds me tons of Tyler Bertuzzi. A taller frame at 6ft 4in and longer arm reach to break up passes and create chances hounding for the puck. Yzerman really is a fan of Tyler's ability to drive the play from LW and keep the energy going. Tyler has great anticipation. Conner may be a real deal as a center (or even LW) generating similar scoring opportunities. Getting 70 points in the WHL should put Conner in the top 10.
Geekie has not a tremendous ceiling he reminds me Ras I would prefer Nazar all Day and even the risky pick Lambert instead of poor ceiling Geekie I'm a bit surprise that Geekie would be your pick you usually have better takes
If Detroit drafts at pick 8 or 9, Frank Nazar would be my 2nd choice. Johnathan Lekkerimaki would be my 1st choice at pick 8 or 9. Johnathan Lekkerimaki is a young 5'11 Swede centerman at age 17. He is one of the younger prospects in the 2022 draft, who project to be a Center at the NHL level. Like Nazar, Lekkerimaki is a right-handed goalscorer. I think it will come down to Lekkerimaki or Nazar at pick 8 or 9 for Detroit. Lekkerimaki could still grow an inch or two at 17. He would be an Yzerman pick for sure!
Honestly Nazar at this spot is my favorite one so far he really could be the missing key piece for the Red Wings

At least based on the video clips, an excellent skater and a skilled player.. good pick from you..( "Red Wing Nation" )

Lekkerimaki would be a way better choice than Geekie for exemple so not a bad idea
