I dislike the comparisons between Home Free and Ptx (VoicePlay too) simply because their styles couldn't be more different imo. I just happen to be drawn to Home Free's style. Chord structure, amazing harmonies, and last, but not least - that Home Free blend. Just doesn't get better, for me!! Thanks Jennifer. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅☃🍟

Can’t put into words how beautiful the harmonies are in this song! Amazing arrangement! Adam Rupp did a great job beatboxing! Great reaction! I love Home Free😊

Adam and Chance killed it on the beat boxing and the bass.

I found Home Free by way of PTX. Never heard of Home Free but the comments mentioned other Acapella groups. After my first Home Free song I was hooked. They are first on my list of Acapella groups now.
Always love the surprised look when Tim took the lead in this song.

If you want to hear Rob, react to "End Of The Road", "How Great Thou Art', and "Understand" for just a few to start

Heard their version dozens of times by now and I never fail to get full body chills when they sing "The great...I AM." I guess I prefer HF over all other groups because their tone is so warm to my ear. And each voice remains distinct, even while blending into the whole. If you listen you can hear any one person's voice in the mix, it doesn't get lost and yet it doesn't overpower the blending of the whole.

Rob takes the lead in their cover of Country Roads by John Denver. It's awesome check it out ❤️

I just love this version...and Chance didn't have a solo, but he carried that bass all the way and he did a GREAT job.

The Home Free guys always brag about Rob's voice also, they give him all the credit he deserves and often put him as lead vocalist in their videos.

Who's better than the other? The ones you enjoy. 😀 Yes, 4 out of 5 HF members say Rob is the best singer. (Rob is too modest.) Merry Christmas!

Adam Rupp has to be the hardest working beat boxer out there.

It is SO easy to forget Home Free is acapella. Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is incomparable.
I love how Home Free keeps a lot of their video environments simple--allows the focus to be on the message and their incredible acapella vocals. Just amazing harmonies❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

Love, love, love this song. I love Home Free’s version but you’re right….don’t compare. Just enjoy! Who would think beatboxing would sound so good in this song? But it works. Yes, that was Chris Rupp in O Holy Night with his brother Adam Rupp (beatboxer). Chris left in 2016 and was replaced by Chance. Rob has a great voice. Good reaction and have a wonderful Christmas.🥰

There are two older, rather obscure Home Free videos that feature Rob and show off his range of styles: "Joy to the World Hosanna" and "Spaceship" (with the latter you also get to see his lovely wife Kelsey and their adorable children).

I’m like you about different music groups, it’s not a competition to me. Different versions are different interpretations of the same song. I like them all. I would urge you to listen to “Mary Did You Know” by Mark Lowery and Voctave. Voctave is another acapella group that is a bit more formal in their music. Mark Lowery was the original song writer of Mary Did You Know and that version is something special with him singing along with Voctave. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas. I love Home Free. Just watching them and listening to them is so rewarding. I'm so glad they don't have a lead singer, because every new release is a surprise package. Every time a particular member takes the lead again, you get to be all smitten again. I do follow their private projects, but when they appear as a group I'm all HF business again. I truly love avery single member's voice, style, public persona and the vibe they choose to give off. I also love that their families are so closely involved in the HF world.

Great to see more acapella groups getting together and bringing some great music to the scene. Pentatonix is easily my favorite, but this group has an excellent set of voices and blends well in harmony together. Enjoyable all around.

You may not want to compare the two versions, but I will. The PTX version, for me, is still the better of the two, which I am basing simply on the fact the the PTX version actually triggers an emotional response in me, something the Home Free version does not. Home Free does some cool things, but nothing that brings a tear to my eye.
You say that you're starting to dig Rob's voice, so you should definitely check out their cover of "End of the Road" (Boyz II Men)

    • @WoobieHugs
      @WoobieHugs Рік тому +7

It's the exact opposite for me. PTX's version is beautiful, don't get me wrong... but it doesn't evoke any emotional response from me, whereas Home Free's does. I tear up every time I hear HF's version. It's haunting and when they burst forth on "The Great I Am" it tears into my soul.

I agree, I LOVE Home Free's version, but the Pentatonix version gives me involuntary chills, every time. I love both groups, equally!
