this is pretty damn amazing for the time when you think of it. funny that they tried to shade the characters to make them fit the background instead of just not shading the background like its done nowadays.

Why did Disney fire him? Why didn't they approve this? He basically got fired...now he runs the thing. Amazing come-back story.

I love the animation Test! Sadly John got fired from Disney to move on to Lucasfilm. But at least he came back to save Disney Animation later 22 years, also he create Toy Story!

Now that John Lasseter is the head of Disney animation I really hope that he considers going back to work on this movie I mean Disney uses CGI all the time now so they would clearly have a enough money in their budget to do these effects as of today. So John Lasseter please make this movie happen!!!

Do you happen to know any good sources for the information on Lasseter's motivations on creating 3D animation?

He also did a small test for The Brave Little Toaster.
If this were completed I honestly think it would STILL be better than the Where The Wild Thing Are movie that was actually put out, even if this were years ago. The live action one was so boring and it didn't fit the book at all! Obviously was just milking it off another title.

@000DW0 No. Putting CG in an animated film would be hardly more than the regular budget of an all-traditionally animated movie!

Hey, nice little piece of animation! BTW, does anyone know what's playing in the background at the beginning of the video? It sounds so familiar to me, I've heard it on another video, called "Tales of Beatrix Potter" (released sometime in the 80s), throughout some of the stories, as well as the end credits. I'll be eternally grateful if anybody knows what that music is. Thanks!

This started from a cgi meme my friend sent me and now I'm down a weird rabbit hole of early cgi

Is there a newer, higher resolution/less compressed version of this?
