Seems like a good idea to cut pollution except that the power has to come from somewhere and when I have been travelling from the airport to Corralejo along the bypass you see the oil fired power station pumping out clouds of black smoke. If all the power was from clean energy it would be much better.

Not sure going "green" will solve everyone's travel problems. Last December, we booked 5 nights in Gibraltar from 21st May and were delighted when the UK government said we could fly again from the 17th May and put Gibraltar on the green list. However, to do so, we would need three tests, a PCR before leaving the UK, a lateral flow in Gibraltar and another PCR by day 2 of our return to the UK. Add to this contradictory information on government web sites (UK and Gibraltar) and on our airline's, the on-line passenger locator forms, negotiating Border Farce on our return to the UK, and we decided it wasn't worth it and cancelled our booking.
Destination governments can clear as many obstacles as they like but if the UK government imposes unnecessary restrictions for fully vaccinated people travelling to and returning from somewhere like Gibraltar, an even safer place than the UK, many people will decide not to bother.

Puerto Mogan in Gran Canaria is a lovely day out. Tapas in a seafront restaurant was divine. Hired a private boat and went dolphin watching, 10's of them swimming up to the boat a truly memorable experience, up there with the best day ever.
We've visited the Canaries twenty odd times mainly in winter and Fuerteventura is our favourite, Corralejo being just a perfect base as we always hire a car to explore the island, hate those cycle/scooter lanes though.
Hi both, great to see Corralejo looking busier. Sandra and I due out on 23/6 fingers crossed 🤞 great to hear that you’re at level 1 in Fuerteventura and I agree that it was a surprise the island was not on initial green list but let’s hope it gets on when the list is reviewed on 28/5.

I stayed at the Parador Hotel in Las Casas El Hierro a couple of years ago, the contrast to the other volcanic Islands is unbelievable, it's a different world and well worth a visit, CICAR have an Office at the Airport and I think at the Port as well. Definitely recommend a short break. Flew for Fuerteventura to the Island via Gran Canaria and took ferry back to Los Cristianos.
Thanks for reminding me that I need to renew my passport. Don't think I will be doing any plumbing jobs though. Have fun.
Fun fact: for us Swedes, tourist season in the Canaries is only in winter. In the spring, all charter companies redirect to the mediterranean countries. Except now, of course. No one is going anywhere.

Hope the sink didn’t leak after your handy work😃 You like walking and La Gomera has lots of walks with fantastic views, the south west of La Gomera is probably the best for walking. La Gomera is like going back 50 years with it’s laid back life and excellent small restaurants.

Great to see Corralejo looking so good, and that lunch looked ... well ... just ... pure dead brilliant! Good tip about passports, but have you heard that 'On The Beach' has just suspended all summer holidays? Having said that, other reports are suggesting a 'shift' from Summer to Autumn/Winter holidays, and the Canaries have been mentioned as likely places to go! Can't wait till I'm back, so please keep posting. Love you both lots! :) xx

That looks like a nice bit of diy tool kit there in the corner, and tackling sink replacement and plumbing 'impressed'. I am a dab hand at most things inc plumbing but it has never been my favorite part of diy as a sparky by trade and lecky & water do not mix well lol. I suffer with 'Hanger' turns out it is to do with me having T2 diebetes that I did not know about lol.
Great video again. We also like Tenerife and spent a lot of time in Los Gigantes - worth a trip, particularly the harbour area. Also would be interested to see the island of La Gomera perhaps?

Thanks ladies, heard a Spanish Minister on the UK news this morning pushing for the islands to be recognised for their own covid status. A bit of a shift from last year when your mainland and canary leaders seemed at odds with each other
Great tip about the passport. I really think that the islands will get the green light, although there is concern about new strains of Corona virus now cropping up in the UK, in particular an Indian variant which is becoming prevalent in greater Manchester, this could yet have a massive bearing on what happens in the UK.
Another great vid girls. Flights to Fuerte booked for early July , and late August hope we can travel on at least one of them . Didn’t the plumbing ferettera just below Idea sell the parts you needed

Take a trip to Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria heard they have put a lot of money into the resort since I was last there about ten years ago and ye could do a beautiful cliff walk to Amadoros beach 🏖️
Last time I went to Puerto Rico , Amadores didn’t exist as a holiday resort , just a beach.

Hi Ladies,good to see you back,can i just say theres a lot of ill feeling here in the UK because of the way the Spanish Goverment have reacted towards us after Brexit.Most of our friends and family are not going on holiday in any EU country and a few have cancelled Spain and going to Portugal instead.
Hi Harry. Spain are just treating the UK the same as any other 3rd country (i.e. outside of the EU), it’s not personal or UK specific
I think they may change their approach if they see any real decline from UK tourism somehow...

Hi Ian. We have Spanish residency not Spanish citizenship so we can only have British passports as we are British citizens. I did consider an Irish one as I have Irish family so could apply and it would be an EU passport but Amelia can’t get one

That's a shame as you're a married couple, and would the Irish not recognise your family heritage and thus the association with Amelia's commitment to you both?..It just seems so much more practical if you can achieve both x x
