    Nice collection! I have a 2022 Japanese Vintage 60s Strat, also with the CBS headstock, but a 50s “V” neck, a real killer. Those MIJ are truly stunning instruments. Also have a 94’ Am STD in black with a rosewood board, a really elegant look to me, love it. Thanks for the video. Cheers.

      Can you tell me the exact model of your 22 japan strat. I'm curious as to how you got a V shape neck when all I get are U's. Is it a special edition strat?

      @@rockcastlemusic it’s a “Japanese Vintage Modified 60s”. I think it was a special run to honor the japanese reissues from the 80s. So this one comes with vintage features, such as 21 frets and a vintage term, but also with some modern appointments, like medium jumbo frets and 9 1/2 inches radius. The neck is a 50s V, although the esthetics is that of a late 60s. It was only available in olympic white with a maple fretboard. It also comes with a push-pull to add the neck pickup to any position, really cool.

      It's not the JV series right? Coz from what you're describing it sounds like the JV modified 60's with large headstock.

      Sorry man, I did not realize at first that it is the JV modified 60's, I never tried that guitar at the store, I still went for the Traditional Series because I did not like that the JV modified 60's has 2 piece maple neck and the trussrod adjustment on the headstock. But I'm sure it's a great guitar. It must be really comfortable to play it with the V shape neck profile. 👍

    My first great guitar was 1979 Tokai Springy Sound replica 56/57 Strat.
    I wish I still had it!.
    What is the thickness of the head stock on the '68 replica?.
    Is it like an original of around 16.8mm?.
    Sometimes slightly bigger or thinner going by the originals I've measured.
    Thanks.

      Oh man... I used to have a 1974 made tokai strat copy black body, one piece maple neck with large headstock with trussrod adjustment in the heel, and I sold it to buy a squier deluxe, I was stupid to do that and still regret it to this day. God damn it still hurts when I remember it. 😬

      @@rockcastlemusic What about a 1982 Tokai stratocaster? They look and sound like a 1960's Fender. Can't decide whether to go for the 70's (ala Blackmore/Malmsteen) or a 1981-1983 year (60's replica)THX

    Hi,can you give any comments on usa malmsteen vs japan malmsteen strat quality wise or any insights. ive heard the neck on japan is thicker? thanks

    • @rockcastlemusic
      @rockcastlemusic  2 місяці тому

      It does feel a bit thick on the MIJ ones because of the shape of the neck.

    2007 USA YJM or later models... what's your take?

    • @rockcastlemusic
      @rockcastlemusic  2 місяці тому +1

      I like the older models before the YJM fury pickups were introduced because of the variation in colors that's all.

      @@rockcastlemusic Thank you for your fast response man 👌🏼
      I see.... 2007 is when the SD Fury were introduced. I've seen 07s with Dimarzios but this ain't one of those. Price is attractive though, $1,900.00 US for a mint condition.
      You are right, the older models have cool colors but shallower scalloped jobs.
      All the best Chief,

      Yjm fury pickups were introduced along with the dunlop straplok and new animal print strap from fender around 2012-2013 ifI'm not mistaken.

    what is the string spacing on the late 60's strat bridge ?

    • @rockcastlemusic

      On this one that I have? Have not measured it yet but bridge looks exactly the same as the bridge of the vintera series stratocaster.
