Fender Mexico just redid the Bass VI with a wider bridge for better intonation.

The MIJ Boxer Teles are some of the best ever.
That’s an Antigua P bass, not a Jazz bass.
The Kazuki Arai bass is extremely interesting for its electronics. Normally in an active Fender Jazz bass, you have Master Volume, Master pickup blend with center detent, and three-band EQ (one stacked knob and one non-stacked knob comprising of bass, mid and treble, in addition to the active/passive toggle switch.)
So…
This bass has TWO stacked knobs. I wonder what that fourth knob is? Sweepable or user-definable mid frequency sweep like the active Sire basses have????

0:54 Those are Gotoh locking tuners, the big pin is you need like a quarter or something to unlock the posts for string changes (unless you want to risk marring the chrome with a screwdriver)

I tried order a guitar from Fender Japan the other day and they told me they cannot ship outside Japan. So, how do we get them?
These are Japanese market exclusives. You'd have to buy them in Japan or from a middle person.
My favorite things are those basses you provided closeups briefly of, but were not featured. They were the two (White? Turquoise) that had a MusicMan pickup nestled between two Jazz Bass pickups.
I just got the Hybrid 2 aquamarine telecaster one day before this video was posted!! I got it from Tokyo Fender flagship store. I did not see the larimar everywhere though. I guess it was mostly out of stock
The Wasted Youth Tele is taken from a Blood for Blood song and album. Most wont know this. Which is probably why they decided to 'borrow' this design.

I really like the MIJ "Late 60s" Strats that came out a while ago with the large headstock. There are some on ebay for less than $1k.
Those fender locking tuners: the top with the slot has the hole for the string in it. Put the string through and hold the string. Now the top can’t turn. Turn the tuning key to lock it.
It’s a truly excellent design (made in Japan) and actually the opposite of the PRE design.
That pale blue quilt-top Tele with the white burst is too cool! Are those available in the US?

No. Those tuners, the top stays stationary, and you turn the tuning key. That locks the strings.
We need hype for these Japanese ‘flame’ Fender guitars.

Fender is fine. On the other hand, Gibson has raised the price hurdle and Japanese people are having a hard time breathing lol. I will move to PRS before the price goes up further.

I went to GC today for guitarathon and guess what, none of the Gibson USA or Custom shop were included in the sale! I played a Kirk Hammet USA and it sounded great!
Since you show the Japanese strats and teles, why not throw in some Les Pauls from Tokai or Greco…. both new and vintage? They rival in every way Gibsons. In fact, even better in most cases.

I love my Gibsons, but I love my Tokai, Grecos and Aria Pro ii Les Pauls. Especially the late 70’s and early to mid 80’s ones. But we all know the bully on the block loves to lawsuit competition out of the way. But Japanese craftsmanship is second to none. That’s why Trogly prefers Japanese Fenders over American made Strats and Teles. But being a Gibson channel he can ill afford to review Japanese Les Pauls. Just saying…
@@hippiebiker3399 preaching to the choir. Owned a lot of guitars. Can honestly say the best one hands down that I would put up against anything was a 1977 Ibanez korina flying V. Had my hands on a Greco Paul that I regret having passed on as well.

Ugh… for whatever reason, on Tele’s especially, I want to see a maple neck (or roasted maple) on the flamed bodies with white pick guards. Is it just me?

Don't csre much for the mint green pickguard but a walnut on that burst model or a metallic with some wood inlays would work better for me.
The Bass VI was definitely my fav.

I’ve just seen now in the uk we can get this new guitar but they only have the strat in red and for the telecaster it’s only blue and red and we don’t have the jazzmasters

Well I was intrigued, until I saw the neck spec is a modern “C”. Yeah I know fender guitars are designed so that you can change the necks out easily for most models. I could easily take a spare neck of my own choice and preferences and replace it on the body if I wanted to, but the modern c shape is just not comfortable for my hands. I have pretty sizable palms. Really though, it’s also the cut on that shape as well as the lack of shoulder that feels off. Thin necks seems to work better with the D shape for me personally.
If fender made the U and V, HELL even the D and 60s C shape necks shaped more accessible beyond replacement parts for their player’s series, I’d be into Fender more. Sadly I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I’d probably buy one of the traditional II models from Fender Japan before one of these hybrids since they are equipped with U shaped necks.

Whoever the Fender gurus are, go to the Deep Purple video "Bad Attitude," and tell me what model Ritchie Blackmore is playing in it. Look at the body shape, the headstock, pickguard, etc. My best guess: it's a Partscaster. Am I wrong? One thing I do know is hes getting a nasty tone out of it during the solo. If you could reach out and touch the tone of that solo, it'd probably leave a jagged gash in your hand. Love it
