  • Hello friends! Today I'm sharing sewing the perfect fall dress (in my opinion!) and I hope you enjoy the journey! This isn't necessarily a tutorial, mainly because I was too stressed to explain what I was sewing HA! Hopefully my next sewing video will be a little bit more informative than this. Enjoy!
And don't forget to head over to the community tab and vote on whether you'd want to snag a brooch to support my channel and my friend at Atomic Lucite's small business!

I just wanna say that you inspire me so much. Not to get dramatic or weepy or anything but I've had a spectacularly hard couple weeks. I watched your canning video the other day and I got out of bed for the first time. I made apple butter. I've never done that before but you made it look so calming and peaceful. And I did it. And I enjoyed it. And now seeing this??? I think I've finally found enough motivation to finish the dresses I started and never went back to.
I know it's a weird thing to say but I am so grateful that you exist and that you share these bits of your life with the world. You have a ~realistic~ life that includes history. That's what makes you stand out for me. You have a family that takes priority and it doesn't stop you from doing things you want in the ways you want to. And while I don't have a family, this dumb depression has kept me from doing things the way I like. You've reminded me that I can handle both sometimes. And I'm really really thankful. ⭐️🌸

This means the world to me, I hope you know that. I'm so glad that my videos help inspire you to do things that bring you joy! This is why I make content, because I want to connect with people like you, and we're both struggling with depression and other things but maybe together inspired by each other we can find joy in the little things again! So many hugs, friend!

I love the dress! My Mom was a seamstress and when I was a little girl she made all of my dresses. I wish I would have appreciated it more. Now that I’m older I realize what a talent that was. Thank you for sharing! I would love to see more sewing videos. ❤️

    • @WithLoveKristina

Mine made me all the dresses, too, and now I get to do that for my girls! It's definitely a skill I appreciate more as I get older, haha!

My mum also made all my dresses and boleros to match she even knitted all my cardigans and jumpers and it’s only now I appreciate how lucky and special i was. She also made curtains and baked beautiful cakes and pies. My mum was priceless 😉🌻

I have my go to patterns that I modify for a vintage style. I use a Kwik Sew jumper plus size button up bodice and have made my size circle skirt pattern or I pleat the fabric around the bodice for a skirt. BTW the fabric you use in this video is VERY similar to the fabric I used for my fall project this year. I had the fabric for over a year! I love your outfit great skills!

Well done! What a beautiful dress. It’s fall here in N Z now, I’m looking to sew an autumn dress of some sort. Then is a pinafore in peppermint magazine I might try.

So... when you said you have had this fabric for a really long time and then mentioned it was 3 or 4 years I nearly spit out my wine laughing (Friday night and I have had a really, really hard week). Oldest piece of fabric in my stash that I have bought? 1980's, oldest fabric in my stash that I own? 1940s, my aunt bought it in Sweden when she was a refuge there during World War 2. I LOVE the dress! Yes I love watching you sew, but I also really enjoy when you style your clothes... now I am off to have another glass of wine!

You could try making you own pattern from a dress you already own and fits you well. There are UA-cam tutorials on how to do this.
