You can serve a bit of hoi sin sauce as a dipping sauce. And if you don't have Thai Basil try this: mix thin slices of white onions with cilantro.

mint works too, if you wanna throw that into the mix. it's inseason!

missing condiments like hoisin and chilli sauce can also saltify the broth a bit more if neeed

This soup is going to make a perfect dinner tonight. It's cold and rainy here in So Cal right now, and both my hubby and I have a bad cold. Even though I am sick, I am looking forward to making this dish to nourish our bodies. Flo, thanks again for another awesome dish! God bless you!

Also Pailin on Hot Thai Kitchen insinuated that the “fresh” rice noodles, were just the dried ones that the manufacture has presoaked and vacuum packed. She said at the restaurant she worked at, they would presoak the dry noodles till they were as pliable as the “fresh“ counterpart and just portioned them out for service into plastic bags so they didn’t dry out, and they cooked up they exact same. You can presoak in hot or warm water but of course the hot will work faster.

I love soup and I have made this using chicken quarters of thigh and leg. I like making soup with bones in from the broth, then after it cooks let it cool and cut it off the bone and throw it back in. I find this improves the broth greatly. Love you guys. Have a great week!

Pho is probably my favourite soup. I used to live south of Vancouver and would join a friend for Pho at a little place on Main Street. This was in the 90’s. Back then 2 big bowls of Pho plus 2 of the special coffees came to just $10. And it was soooo good!

I know u were in a rush, but you should heat your Staub gradually. And most of the time the medium setting is really all you need (it will boil on medium). I got a hairline crack on mine trying to heat it too quickly on a cold day. I think bc they are thicker and heavier than Le Creuset it makes them more sensitive to quick temp changes. I don’t like seeing ppl unintentionally risk their expensive, heritage cookware 😂.

dang. $2 for fresh pho noodles?!?! and I thought Vancouver was the most expensive city in Canada. the dry stuff here costs double that, easily. Might I suggest Better than Bouillon... better and the liquid boxed / tinned chicken water.. much more flavor and you're not paying for transported water. Not sponsored.

@@FloLum when we 1st started to eat Pho I was working at a High Tech firm with a ton of Vietnamese folks. They would take us to varied Pho places. You could get a bowl of noodles for around $6. We went a few weeks ago. I almost had to take a loan out on my car to pay the bill. 🤣
