Sedan is made in Allison assembly plant which has produced some of the most reliable Civics from the 90s. I agree, it’s a very nice package that cost much less to own then the more expensive brands. However, not for me, unless base K20c2 came equipped with a 6MT
It was great that you guys noticed the growth in the Civic and the Accord. Kind of makes you wonder if now Honda will come out for the North American Market with a compact, like they did with the HRV and the CRV and Pilot got bigger. Maybe a Yaris fighter, provided of course that it sells, but maybe that’s what the base Civic is and they just rid of the FIT. I just liked the styling and size of the early 80’s Honda Civic CVCC Hatchback. I had a friend with a Red one that looked kind of cool
Yeah I wanted this car at first for the smoother shifting, great fuel economy, and good cargo capacity. UNFORTUNATELY finding or getting an dealership to actually put in an minimal effort and order a manual in the color you want (lunar silver) is to much effort for them. Also when they were jacking the price up $5,000 to $7,000 over MSRP. I went with the notchy but still fun to drive Subaru Impreza Hatchback "manual" which I "could" find. With the seats folded down it offers More cargo space (54 cubic feet) than the honda (plus I have an roof rack) that has now been reported to have rear hatch leaks. Im glad I chose dependability and safety over fancy and new, and saved thousands in the process.
I'm seriously tempted to go try one of these (when/if my local Honda dealers ever get one in that isn't pre-sold and I can actually test drive it) to replace a 2021 Subaru Legacy Touring XT. From everything I seen and read about it I should have waited to buy a new Civic Touring.
The CVT is a little annoying from time to time, but it is definitely one of the best ones on the market. I've owned the 22 Touring for a little over a year now, and it's an absolutely fantastic car. I would not hesitate to buy it again, even knowing the CVT takes a little bit away from the driver experience.
I prefer the Corolla styling but this looks more refined. Good insights into car that has more soul than you’d expect. It’s like the quiet accountant who surprises everyone by break dancing at the party.
honestly you get more bang for your buck with a 2023 jetta SE, and the 8spd automatic transmission is built by Asin and that sits better with me considering i see Honda CVt’s fail just as horribly as Jatco.
This is a great little car, but drive an Accord 2.0, tap that "Sport" button on our morning commute or canyon getaway and you'll understand why you would buy one over this car. Different league
CVT = more transmission service involved, not just "takes away the fun". Honda, what did you do with that wonderful 8 speed DCT you once put in the ILX?
I would no doubt buy a Civic sedan (currently own an 8th gen) if they did away with the stupid turbo engine. If you could get a touring with a K series I'd be all over it.
K series were phenomenal! Had an 8th gen Si, that thing was a wonder. Turbo isn't that bad, but no match for the NA 2.0 in terms of character and aggressiveness
@@zaytoony And for the record you can still get the Civic with a K series but only a lower to mid trims which is a shame. I'd still choose it even though it's down on power compared to the 1.5T.
I actually think from some rear three quarters angles it looks like Chevy Cruze. It is a good vehicle no doubt. Take the Corolla because. Don’t like turbo engines. Still good solid transportation here.
We were down to the civic touring and Mazda 3 as our next daily and long term tester. You just could not get a Civic in any kind of reasonable time period without a ridiculous mark up. And the 3 is pretty darn good with its six speed and rev happy 2.5 N/a 4. So the 3 it was. But it is down on space compared to the civic.

I’m 4’11” and bought the 2023 Honda Civic Touring trim specifically because the driver’s seat has automatic 6-way adjustable controls, including UP! I can see better in my new Civic than my old ‘02 Civic LX. I also bought a seat cushion to give me more height. The seat goes up high enough but I’m so short that when I’m sitting in the seat, the top of my head hit the BOTTOM of the headrest! Very annoying and uncomfortable. You can have a manual transmission in the Sport and Sport Touring hatchback.
Sedan looks so good. It would be a tough decision for me.
@@verothacamaro I couldn’t find one so I took what I could get without waiting and I am very happy with the sedan.
@@Just-a-guy926 only Si gets a manual transmission for Sedans, but it’s available on all trims fin hatchback. If there was a base 6MT Sedan with beafed-up front axel, it’d be automatic replacement for my 10th. I’m not going to pay more to replace my port-injection K20, for a small Turbo engine.
Frasier and Nikes seem to really like the Honda Civic.
It really is a nice car.
I agree, it’s a very nice package that cost much less to own then the more expensive brands. However, not for me, unless base K20c2 came equipped with a 6MT
Exactly. The 1.5T direct injection engine is still plagued with issues, and a manual gearbox will always be more reliable than a CVT 👍🏻
Love my 22 civic. The cvt is amazing and I love it so far. Very smooth and quiet
You guys should do a comparison of an Elantra vs the civic
The Elantra has a really good cvt or ivt
People have done it already. The Elantra is way quicker and siffer
Have you guys reviewed the Integra?
I really enjoyed the commentary.
THe CVT impressions were hilarious.
Could y'all review the sport manual with the NA 2.0? The naturally aspirated motor with port injection appeals to me as a long term costco machine.
Fantastic review guys
I'm seriously tempted to go try one of these (when/if my local Honda dealers ever get one in that isn't pre-sold and I can actually test drive it) to replace a 2021 Subaru Legacy Touring XT. From everything I seen and read about it I should have waited to buy a new Civic Touring.
That driver-side rear door looks off, like the colour is slightly too dark...Did this one get dinged?
Will you guys review the new audi rs3?
We’d love to get one. We don’t know if it will ever be part of other press car rotation, but would be great to drive one.
Really like the car. Trying hard to convince yourselves that the CVT doesn’t suck.
Great overview!
At one time Honda Civic was affordable Transportation but unfortunately that doesn't exist anymore
The used car has displaced the cheap new car, cars last long enough that you don't need to get a new one every few years.
The average car price exceeds $40k…but the level of content and safety features of modern autos cannot be matched with prior cars.
If you want a car that has carplay/android auto it’s like 10k at the cheapest for a used car
Honda hood cam was hilarious 😂
Exterior and interior design on the new Civic is on-point! As an enthusiast I'm just not sure I could live with the CVT.
The CVT is a little annoying from time to time, but it is definitely one of the best ones on the market. I've owned the 22 Touring for a little over a year now, and it's an absolutely fantastic car. I would not hesitate to buy it again, even knowing the CVT takes a little bit away from the driver experience.
sounds like the old honda. finally
Sport trim has flappy paddles as well.
I prefer the Corolla styling but this looks more refined. Good insights into car that has more soul than you’d expect. It’s like the quiet accountant who surprises everyone by break dancing at the party.
Back seat of Corolla tight compared to Civic.
I cant stand the corolla headlines is why i cant even consider them. It looks like a Batman & Robin facemask.
Great review as usual.
Can you justify buying this trim with the cat integra being about the same price?
Is the bumper to bumper dimension and wheelbase the same for both models bruh?
All the new civic models are on the same platform, so they have the same wheelbase. Bumpers vary minimally. Thanks for watching!
Gunna wait for the civic hybrid: fall of 2023
HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE..
Nice little car, but Honda has to fix the road noise issues and get rid of the CVT.
How is the road noise at highway speeds?
“Sure, let’s try that!!” 😂😂😂
The car drives great but it has very loud road noise and uncomfortable seats with no lumbar even on touring.
Nice car. Honda we still want a fit or element. Max 25$. Ur loosing clients to the kias out there
Based on what I've seen/read the base motor dosen't have better mpg. The Ex with the 1.5 turbo has the best.
I just but a 2022 love it ,I like Toyota but I like civic tegnologe
honestly you get more bang for your buck with a 2023 jetta SE, and the 8spd automatic transmission is built by Asin and that sits better with me considering i see Honda CVt’s fail just as horribly as Jatco.
seems to be a great daily! but ugh... CVT. great video as always guys
Why is Honda putting 1.5 Turbo engines in the Civic Touring if they're not good engines??
This is a great little car, but drive an Accord 2.0, tap that "Sport" button on our morning commute or canyon getaway and you'll understand why you would buy one over this car. Different league
CVT = more transmission service involved, not just "takes away the fun". Honda, what did you do with that wonderful 8 speed DCT you once put in the ILX?
Can't wait for the 12th gen in 5 years, EV. In about 5 years EV's should definitely be cheap enough to fit the Civic price range.
EV's will continue to decrease in price. I leased my 21 Bolt for less than this Civic would lease for.
The hybrid version is coming 2025. Just like the CRV last year 2023.
I would no doubt buy a Civic sedan (currently own an 8th gen) if they did away with the stupid turbo engine. If you could get a touring with a K series I'd be all over it.
They still sell then with the k series
@@feelthatfeelthat Yes but not in a good trim level.
@@revnto7k yes, thats correct. Still quite the engine.
Canada hasn’t forgotten about the Corolla!! 🤡 #1 car for 10 years??
Good luck getting this car at 30k. All the dealerships are just jackals.
good shit boys
Had me until CVT.
I actually think from some rear three quarters angles it looks like Chevy Cruze. It is a good vehicle no doubt. Take the Corolla because. Don’t like turbo engines. Still good solid transportation here.
I'm done after I heard CVT
You know times are sad when these two have run out of actual 2 door sports cars to review.
Car has grown in time together with the...price of it. 39k in Canada. Not the cheap car anymore
HONDA ❤
The honda camry
No CVTs!! Mazda3 please.
Straight pipes thumbnail clickbait😩
Everyone just forgets about the Mazda 3 in this segment :( it has way better interior and no CVT that you need to fight against
And they're selling at MSRP which in today's world is massive
We were down to the civic touring and Mazda 3 as our next daily and long term tester. You just could not get a Civic in any kind of reasonable time period without a ridiculous mark up. And the 3 is pretty darn good with its six speed and rev happy 2.5 N/a 4. So the 3 it was. But it is down on space compared to the civic.
When Mazda jerked out the independent rear suspension on the Mazda 3, and put in the old fashioned twist beam, the FANBOYS left them in droves!
Mazda 3's rear seat space is too tight. Compared to the Civic which is almost spacious as an Accord, there is just no comparison.
nothing wrong with cvts
Let me help you dudes out. "This is good car for most people who don't actually like cars, has teens and looking for a first car for them, or have an awesome car at home but need a daily." There is nothing, nothing exciting about it. It's good, and it's there.
Cars have gotten soooo big! I’m 5 feet tall and the Civic’s seats don’t adjust enough for smaller people. I literately can’t drive it.
The seat cushion gives me enough height in the seat that my head actually rests on the headrest, albeit low on the headrest. 🤪 Love this new Civic!
I don't care. I like the car but with a CVT its a hard pass. Even if it's "okay" its still a cvt..
Nothing wrong with this car that a K24 and a 6-speed wouldn't fix....
The shades of the body panels don't match.
It’s the paint. I have the same color it looks darker or lighter at certain angles. Bright sunlight makes it look lighter.
@@Just-a-guy926 In any given shot the rear door is significantly darker than the rear fender right next to it.
Wondering if there was damage/repaint to rear door and repainted incorrectly
Driver's side rear door looks repainted...
Accord is rommier than civic and has more power.
