How to make the origami Darkness Dragon 2.0
Model and Video by Tadashi Mori
This is a complex origami, so you must be experienced in order to make it. It's the second version of my origami darkness dragon, with a better (not easier) structure on the belly part, and bigger wings.
Recommended paper: Tissue Foil, Double Tissue, Thai Unryu or any other thin paper.
    Size: 40 x 40cm (16 x 16 in)

    Crease Pattern: www.flickr.com/...

I managed to fold this back in high school and gifted it to my crush, over time we drifted apart tho and the origami wound up destroyed... Now 6 years later me and the girl got back together, and just as we rebuild our relatioship I decided to rebuild this dragon now. Thank you Tadashi Mori for this awesome design

For people saying this is too hard, you are not explaining it correctly.
Origami is not just something you google up and suddenly you are good at. You actually need to listen to what the person says and learn the terminology. Its not easy, but its not supposed to be.

An excellent example of a 22.5 crease pattern. Unlike box pleat crease patterns (those that use square grids- Riccardo Foschi's Baby White Scorpion is a good example) where you pre-crease everything, then collapse it to form the base, this model (like most 22.5's) involve some pre-creasing, but it is mostly just a minor collapse, followed by diagram-type steps, before shaping. Great job, Tadashi.

Hi Mr. Tadashi Mori, I’m here just to let you know that finally, after a few days, I MADE IT! I even memorized it all! I think that once you anderstand what you are folding, it’ s very easy to realize! I’m just a beginner in complex orogamis like this but I think it gave me a very very very good start for fold other “master’s” (ancient dragon for example)! At the moment I’m learning the Phoenix with your tutorial!
Well, very compliments and thanks for blowing my mind!

Really amazing. But why do you speed up the video in places? Doing that keeps us viewers from clearly seeing what you're doing and understanding all the intricate little folds you're making in places. Every fold you make is important, so speeding up the video does not accomplish anything useful.
Please keep the camera zoomed in for small folds and please don't speed up the video. Thank you!

Don't make if you're using A3 or A4 paper because:
    1. Its too small of a size. I had to put two A3 papers togetherand cut them into a square, and that was a little on the small side. Aim for 50-60+ cm
    2. The paper is too thick. I had to skip the part at 31:05 and had multiple paper rips because the paper would not fold!
Though A3 paper isnt recommended, I'm using it as a starter, so when I make the FULL model without any rips or skips, it will be with larger + thinner paper.

Hello! My name is Uroš and I have folded what I believe it to be, the world's smallest Darkness Dragon! My journey began with a small piece of paper, only 5,2x5,2 cm in size! At my disposal, I had one toothpick and one small knife. At first, it wasn't very difficult, I've managed much smaller, but as the process of folding something like this went on.. My God... At some points, it looked like it was impossible! All those tiny tuck-in's, those small gaps of only few millimetres openings? It took me several days to fold it! Bit by bit, piece by piece, I have recorded a time-lapse video of a creation of such a beautiful piece of art! But, at my great sorrow, the piece was getting too small, as far as the head being somewhere around 1/3 of my fingernail! And, when it finally came time to fold it in half, the paper itself couldn't support such a small folds that it ripped by little! And there I was, heartbroken, seeing something that I worked so hard on, at that point probably about (in non continuity) 7 or 8 hours, it made me stranded. I couldn't finish the tutorial, I couldn't make those details. But, I didn't want to go down without a fight, so, I did my best and finished the model! Now, I know, details are not the same as in my last one, also probability the worlds 1st smallest Darkness Dragon (even impressed Tadashi Mori himself to whom I'm to this day grateful for sharing my art on his page, it still makes me feel amazing), but, the last model was made from considerably bigger paper, and if I remember right, I think it was around 6x6 cm or 7x7 cm piece of paper! And, after my journey of gaining valuable experience and immensely improved skill of creating such small origami, I have shared the looks of it on my newly made Facebook page, to whom you may find link here :
    facebook.com/tinyorigami
I will be making more origami, small and big, and with your support of following me, you're giving me inspiration, motivation and dedication to create even more and even smaller origami models! Be sure to check it out, and there you shall find out how does the 2,8 cm long, Darkness Dragon, look on a coin, that's only 5 rsd (Serbian dinars). Thank you for your time, with lots of love and respect, yours truly - Uroš Božanić.

Much appreciated if you would say when to stop folding before I over-fold! Examples include 8:30-8:50
