- Fishing the local canal as the river season is over i decided to target pike in the shallow clear water. Using small dead baitfish like roach and rudd to stalk and catch them on the light setup. The takes were savage and the fights were awesome.

Just yesterday I caught my first pike in this year. It was a surprise fish. Here they are after the spawn.

Hiya Ginger.....I have been enjoying your GREAT Pike videos....and I am learning so much from you...your no nonsense style and presentation is much appreciated...AND you seem to get on Pike everywhere you throw in a hook...down here in Essex ...I have had more days skunked ...no fish not even getting a sniff ..maybe it is because I only throw... SURFACE LURES ..! ❓Also ...your water, under the surface anyhow,.. is ALWAYS so clear..❓❓❓❗️🤔 compared to mine..! Pity it is off season...but I may take the hooks off my top waters and swim them to see if I get any hits...so I am ready 😉👍😳..for season opener..😂🤪❗️👍⁉️

Nice one Chris. I'm still locked into a 5km radius here.... Haven't done any decent fishing in....nearly a year now. I'm getting a tent whenever we're allowed out again - need to do a load of overnighters to make up for it.

Excellent session Chris. Those Pike have great colouration and markings. They reminded me of the two big river Pike that Bob James caught in the old Passion For Angling on the River Wensum, which if you haven't seen yet then you bloody well should do!☺ Oh...and casting to a Pike's arse may not be the most orthodox of methods of trying to hook it but it did sound funny...😂 lol

another great vid, i wonder if i can ask you about a possible film...i recently saw one (with Carp) with a Crayfish in a baited spot....it was interesting to see the behaviour between carp and itself ..and its behaviour on the baited area too...it would be interesting to see how it would react to deadbait and possible pike interraction...i dont know if you ever fish waters with crayfish...just a thought... keep up the great work.
I had a 17lb 9oz on a roach deadbait today. My first ever on a deadbait and my second biggest pike ever. My mate also had a 12lb 10oz pike on a mackerel section

In the UK you're allowed to fish on pikes in the ditches, is that right, here it's not, or i can go to Germany ( 15 miles) maybe i'll do that, i can't live without fishing, i'm hooked, regards from Holland 👍

Get your fish back faster most of us know what they look like, great videos, but UA-cam fishers always seem to mess with the fish for far longer than is needed
This is obvious as its a video and needs more time. If you were fishing, you'd obviously not leave the fish out this long. Common sense mate and no need to state the obvious, he rests the fish and provides care that other anglers fail to recognise.
