  • Build Tutorial on the IKEA LACK Side Table. This video has 3 different styles with Marble, Geometric Design, and Herringbone Table Tops. The Marble IKEA HACK is the easiest and least time consuming of the 3 tables. The Geometric Design and Herringbone will require some woodworking skills but well worth the effort.

    I like the center design most. The marble contact paper looks ok too.

    These are wonderful! I've had the coffee table version (it's definitely been used and abused) and I'm going to give it a nice little upgrade!

    Very nice! I have one question. I have two Lack tables and I noticed that the bottom of the legs appear to be just bare paper composite, they don't looked sealed. I'm concerned that if they get wet they will just disintegrate. Am I wrong about that? Shouldn't these be sealed or covered with something to protect that filler from falling apart if the legs get wet? Any suggestionson what to do, seal (with what?) or cover the bottom of the legs (with what?). Any tips you have would be so appreciated. Thanks!

    I mostly liked this vid. I wish you had slowed down the footage of the actual build of the tops though. I would consider doing this and referring back to your vid for inspiration.

      Yeah you can if you want, I think I might have used Danish Oil to finish the wood but its been so long. Yeah or adding a coat of polyurethane would be a good idea too!

    can you use wood pallets instead of wood lathe?

    • @PaulTranDIY
      @PaulTranDIY  5 років тому +1

      Yeah you can, its just a lot thicker material and wider. Will just take a lot more work to get done but I guess the material is free?

    how do those wood lath look like and where do you get them?

    • @PaulTranDIY
      @PaulTranDIY  6 років тому +1

      You can buy them at home depot or Lowes. Ask one of their employees to help you find it. You can look up "wood lath" on home depot and it should show up too.

      Would that possible to convert a rectangle coffee table into the art deco table you have shown in the video by using the 45 degrees? Size 35 3/8x21 5/8 "

    • @PaulTranDIY
      @PaulTranDIY  6 років тому +3

      No I didn't sell them. I donated them to a local choir for silent auction
