I like how “Bardock” talks about wanting a good fight, this likely means that throughout his time in a saiyans body he was affected similarly to Goku Black which also explains why he trained in the first place with Bardocks body.
goku namek has a power of 90.000 and he used kaioken 20x so his power rose to 1.800.000 enough to surpass base ginyu, so "bardock" must be 1.500.000 in base form and 75,000,000 in super saiyan
goku almost became a super saiyan, his power was at 4,500,000, and maybe he got a zenkai getting 3.000.000 and later 150.000.000 in ss like the original story
At 4:38, Goku’s power level dropped from 4,500,000 to around 90,000, implying that he possibly went super sayian before his death. Great details you have.
Not possibly but definitely went super saiyan. Super saiyan is a x50 multiplier and gokus power level increased 50x and you can see the silhouette of Gokus hair as a ssj
3:43 i love this transformation, it's fit perfectly with Ginue's personnality, he would have totally transformed into super sayan by dancing if he could do that in the original serie
We all know Bardock wanted to stop Frieza from exterminating the Saiyans, but what's interesting here is that Bardock appears to be working for him despite this fact. Based on Bardock's reactions and how the creator cleverly used Ginyu's theme for the end credits.. I think all of us can put two and two together. Amazing work as always, Hyourinjutsu!
Bardock achieved super saiyan against freeza but still was not strong enough to beat him, so freeza decides to immobilize him so right after make ginyu use his famous technique, its my guess lol

That twist actually caught me off guard. This one was short but brutal at the same time, and it’s actually one of my favorites. Edit: Spoilers btw For those unaware, the twist is that Ginyu takes Bardock’s body. His subtitles are purple on Namek but green on Vegeta, title has Bardock in quotation marks, loyal to Frieza.

Every time you upload, there is always at least one moment in the video that gives me chills; and that's so goddamn cool. This time it was (3:44) with "Bardock" mentioning how he's second strongest to Frieza. The pose Bardock has at (3:49) is just so chilling, and using Gogeta SSJ4's theme from FighterZ is the perfect topping to it all man. So much respect; keep up the great work and thank you so much! These What-If's are so fun to see!
This series is SO FUCKING GOOD! Everyone seems to forget that what made DBZ great wasn't the explosive fights or animation, but the context and sheer HYPE that was built up behind every great battle. The lore you put into your work elevate them above any other fan animation, and the animation itself is crispy-clean and as high-quality as you can get. Awesome work as usual Hyourinjutsu!
I kept wondering why Goku’s power level skyrocketed to 4,500,000 the first time I saw this. I thought Goku decided to use Kaioken x50 as a last resort to match against “Bardock” but upon closer inspection I noticed the little detail of goku’s hair being spiked up. MY GUY WENT SUPER SAIYAN BEFORE HIS DEATH! I really would’ve like to see a super saiyan Goku before getting the zenkai boost before fighting final form freiza in the canon timeline vs this version of bardock with his super saiyan form. Amazing work as always Hyourinjutsu!!
Crazy to think that base Goku was already close to that level (4 million) after the insane zenkai boost he got after healing in the space pod, to be level with 1% fourth form Frieza.

@@burnttoast.2017 Idk man he went Kaioken x10 against frieza for a brief period then x20 which severely damped his capabilities and made it harder for him to even keep fighting Freiza but that was a Goku who received a Zenkai so grand that it boosted his PL to 3M this is a Goku significantly weaker than that in theory even a Kaioken x20 would be life threatening let alone a x30-40
@@burnttoast.2017 Kaioken x20 *is* Goku going over the limit. Throughout all of Z and Super, it's been shown that he can't go over that. Even in Hyourinjutsu's narrative, Goku equated going x20 to going beyond the limit. I liked the video, but I think the x30 / x40 Kaioken was a bit silly this time.
This timeline's Ginyu must have been witness to Frieza's transformations, otherwise he would not call himself second-strongest. Also, a Super Saiyan under Frieza's orders is a pretty tragic irony.
Fully agree with you. The legend that was going to be against Frieza, went down to be used by Frieza. Pretty tragic that one( "Bardock") is used, while another hope( Goku) was destroyed
I love how in your what ifs not always the good guys win. I know it sounds pretty obvious but It makes it more realistic and fresh to watch. Also more thrilling everytime you post since you never actually know which side is going to come out on top.

@@hmidk676 yeah he was heavily outclassed there "bardock" had a base form of around a million ( Since kaioken x10 Goku had 900.000 was keeping up but losing but x20 overpowered him Aka 1.800.000) That means as a ssj he was around 50 million Ssj Goku in the end had 4.5 million Even ssj3 or kaioken x10 on top of ssj wouldnt be enough Ssj3 Goku from the video would have 36.000.000 Ssj kaioken x10 45.000.000
Even if short, it was really sweet and makes me wonder about its story. Throughout the fight it somewhat seemed like Ginyu sort of hated trying to finish off goku/kill him, but had to knowing what his intentions were to find the dragon balls and finish him off. It was also cool not only did you mix in Jeice's moves, but you could tell it was Ginyu by his graceful/flashy movement both in the air and by fighting. Mixed with bardocks strong and focused style with it. I think personally while Ginyu took over Bardocks body, he has somewhat of his thought process, as Ginyu is usually Energetic/Uproarious this one seems more Serious and Calm, maybe hinting that his training with the body had allowed him to tap further into Bardocks mind, thus allowing him to achieve super saiyan and such. Either that or I'm thinking too deep into this :X
@@Xenaman Well we know Bardock at base against frieza was 10k, but we don't know how truly strong he technically was since after he left; he just flew out and probably trained like hell/fought a ton of battles to get even stronger. While I understand the TV special isn't Canon, I like the headcanon that Bardock escaped near death and is just being a nomad in space.

@@danielgonzalez-vm5lj SSJ isn't 50 times however. That varies very much. The first time Goku was SSJ it actually made him 150x base form. At some point they got so used to SSJ that it only was 7 times as strong as their base form. So a maximum Kaioken would actually be stronger at some point. However there's also SSJ2 so there really wasn't any point in going for kaioken after the Frieza Saga. Only time we saw it was against Pikkon and Goku could do that cuz he was dead and the conditions in Other/Outer World are very good hence why he got SSJ2 and SSj3 so easily. Yeah DBS blah blah but tha'ts bullshit and completely uncanon.
@@Firemarioflower yea indeed completely uncanon ssj was never x150 the ssj multipliers ( upto ssj3) have been oficially shown ssj x50 ssj2 x100 ssj3 x400 If ssj would just be x7 Goku could easily just go kaioken x10 ignoring ssj all transformations have static multipliers That don't change just That the enemies are stronger every time and the last one is no longer efective As an example the oficial powerlevel of Goku vs freezer was 3.000.000 60.000.000 with kaioken x20 ( literally just x20) and then there is ssj Goku who had 150.000.000 ( literally just x50 ) Even the creator of the vídeo adapted it with Goku getting x50 times stronger and spiky hair in the last seconds before dying

So basically Goku also went ssj or atleast false ssj but he destroyed his body with kaioken so he died instead And for anyone wondering, yes it was Ginyu the whole time. He had a purple text while talking and he even posed when transforming, he also finished Goku with a milky cannon

its always infuriating seeing people watch this video and say "Goku can't go beyond x20" that's the point! he went further and he started combusting. he literally started to collapse just after getting hit twice by "bardock"

At first I thought this would be a cool yet quick fight for Goku, but as the pieces fell into place, I realized how screwed he was. That was an amazing twist!
I like the details of Goku turning Super Sayajin before dying and Ginyu using Bardock body, the movement with some dances and the dialogues "Using this body made me know better than to underestimate a saiyan". It would be cool to see how that happened, but it would be even more cool if this had any connection to [What-If] Vegeta Were To Turn Super Saiyan Before Goku. Because this would imply that Vegeta wasn't putting his hope on Goku to defeat Frieza because he was already dead, then that would be like a last stand. Although it would be tricky to explain how they would fight "Bardock"
I can think of 3 reasons why they would fight: 1.They love to battle 2.They both want the Dragon balls ........ 3.That's not bardock!!! Still good stuff
Toriyama, give this man control of the franchise already! At least somebody make him a lead editor or executive producer! The story is always so much better and more creative in these shorts than the main series.
No? This fight is stupid, simply due to the fact that Goku could have used a senzu bean and then destroyed Ginyu but they were conveniently left out so Ginyu would win.
After noting the quotation marks and seeing what Saga it took place in, it was easy to call the twist and gave me suspicions, especially with the length of the video, how it was going to go. I'm not the biggest fan of watching villain-victory AUs unfold, but the quality of your stuff is always top-notch, so even a short-n-bittersweet fight like this was good from start to finish, keep up the great work on these animations!

The interesting thing about this hypothetical match up, when we re talking power levels.. is goku had no chance even with spirit bomb or if he went ssj, WITHOUT SENSU BEANS. This bardock is a ginyu who switched bodies decades ago. So this guy claims he second to frieza who is 120 million pvl, so this bardock is probably hovering base 1 million and ssj 50x multiplier. So goku who walk in namek with pvl of 90,000 with maxing out to kaoken x20... he probably would push himself to x40 and still had no chance, based on this skit. Even with ssj, which is a 50x multiplyer. But knowing the character of goku, he d probably use a sensue to squeeze out a win on this hypothetical match up with zenkai boosts. His first zenkai brought him to 3 million... so once sensue should be enough...and since he pushed himself to kaoken x40 here...he should be able to easily release kaoiken x40 again after 1 zenkai getting him the win... If ginyu bardock went ape...cause he has his tail then yeah I'd imagine goku would still win due to knowing to take the tail off or goku would go ssj still getting the win. Again this is after one zenkai from goku

Great animation, as always! It's an interesting What-if, that, given the background we now have about Saiyans, would actually be a good decision for Ginyu to make. But, realistically, I do not think he would have made it. His original body was stronger than Bardock's and Saiyans were viewed as low-class warriors anyway. Really cool twist, though!
maybe in this timeline he didn't find his purple body and decided to use Bardock's body (since it's canon now that the purple body he uses is not his original body)

I kept wondering why Goku’s power level skyrocketed to 4,500,000 the first time I saw this. I thought Goku decided to use Kaioken x50 as a last resort to match against “Bardock” but upon closer inspection I noticed the little detail of goku’s hair being spiked up. MY GUY WENT SUPER SAIYAN BEFORE HIS DEATH! I really would’ve like to see a super saiyan Goku before getting the zenkai boost before fighting final form freiza in the canon timeline vs this version of bardock with his super saiyan form. Amazing work as always Hyourinjutsu!!
Crazy to think that base Goku was already close to that level (4 million) after the insane zenkai boost he got after healing in the space pod, to be level with 1% fourth form Frieza.
The whole Kaioken x30 /x40 thing seemed kinda silly to me honestly.
@@magicfoogieA not really that situation called for it. We've already seen Goku push his body severely in the Saiyan Saga. He probably felt the same level of pain as then or more.
@@burnttoast.2017 Idk man he went Kaioken x10 against frieza for a brief period then x20 which severely damped his capabilities and made it harder for him to even keep fighting Freiza but that was a Goku who received a Zenkai so grand that it boosted his PL to 3M this is a Goku significantly weaker than that in theory even a Kaioken x20 would be life threatening let alone a x30-40
@@burnttoast.2017 Kaioken x20 *is* Goku going over the limit. Throughout all of Z and Super, it's been shown that he can't go over that. Even in Hyourinjutsu's narrative, Goku equated going x20 to going beyond the limit.
I liked the video, but I think the x30 / x40 Kaioken was a bit silly this time.

You know what I just noticed on the rewatch? Goku's close up looks like how he was drawn in early Z. Amazing attention to detail.
This timeline's Ginyu must have been witness to Frieza's transformations, otherwise he would not call himself second-strongest.
Also, a Super Saiyan under Frieza's orders is a pretty tragic irony.

Even if short, it was really sweet and makes me wonder about its story.
Throughout the fight it somewhat seemed like Ginyu sort of hated trying to finish off goku/kill him, but had to knowing what his intentions were to find the dragon balls and finish him off.
It was also cool not only did you mix in Jeice's moves, but you could tell it was Ginyu by his graceful/flashy movement both in the air and by fighting. Mixed with bardocks strong and focused style with it.
I think personally while Ginyu took over Bardocks body, he has somewhat of his thought process, as Ginyu is usually Energetic/Uproarious this one seems more Serious and Calm, maybe hinting that his training with the body had allowed him to tap further into Bardocks mind, thus allowing him to achieve super saiyan and such.
Either that or I'm thinking too deep into this :X
Well the problem is ginju is a lot stronger than bardock, bardock powerlevel was around 8000 while ginju is around 100000.

Well we know Bardock at base against frieza was 10k, but we don't know how truly strong he technically was since after he left; he just flew out and probably trained like hell/fought a ton of battles to get even stronger.
While I understand the TV special isn't Canon, I like the headcanon that Bardock escaped near death and is just being a nomad in space.

I have to admit, you, using Bardock's moveset from DBFZ was an added Easter Egg for those who know, plus the UI OST sealed it.

That unbelievable strain of x40 kaioken with only 100x gravity training, even I would've given up there.
Maybe cell saga Goku could handle x30 or x40 but with ssj being a x50 by default and with way less strain kaioken became obsolete
@@danielgonzalez-vm5lj SSJ isn't 50 times however. That varies very much. The first time Goku was SSJ it actually made him 150x base form. At some point they got so used to SSJ that it only was 7 times as strong as their base form. So a maximum Kaioken would actually be stronger at some point. However there's also SSJ2 so there really wasn't any point in going for kaioken after the Frieza Saga. Only time we saw it was against Pikkon and Goku could do that cuz he was dead and the conditions in Other/Outer World are very good hence why he got SSJ2 and SSj3 so easily.

As an example the oficial powerlevel of Goku vs freezer was 3.000.000 60.000.000 with kaioken x20 ( literally just x20) and then there is ssj Goku who had 150.000.000 ( literally just x50 ) Even the creator of the vídeo adapted it with Goku getting x50 times stronger and spiky hair in the last seconds before dying

I like the details of Goku turning Super Sayajin before dying and Ginyu using Bardock body, the movement with some dances and the dialogues "Using this body made me know better than to underestimate a saiyan". It would be cool to see how that happened, but it would be even more cool if this had any connection to [What-If] Vegeta Were To Turn Super Saiyan Before Goku. Because this would imply that Vegeta wasn't putting his hope on Goku to defeat Frieza because he was already dead, then that would be like a last stand. Although it would be tricky to explain how they would fight "Bardock"

No? This fight is stupid, simply due to the fact that Goku could have used a senzu bean and then destroyed Ginyu but they were conveniently left out so Ginyu would win.
I expected more of a dream sequence fight but this is WAY cooler.
After noting the quotation marks and seeing what Saga it took place in, it was easy to call the twist and gave me suspicions, especially with the length of the video, how it was going to go. I'm not the biggest fan of watching villain-victory AUs unfold, but the quality of your stuff is always top-notch, so even a short-n-bittersweet fight like this was good from start to finish, keep up the great work on these animations!

So im assuming Ginyu took Bardocks body from what Bardock said after beating Goku well damn. Thank you for making amazing animations keep it up Hyourinjutsu 👍
The interesting thing about this hypothetical match up, when we re talking power levels.. is goku had no chance even with spirit bomb or if he went ssj, WITHOUT SENSU BEANS.
This bardock is a ginyu who switched bodies decades ago. So this guy claims he second to frieza who is 120 million pvl, so this bardock is probably hovering base 1 million and ssj 50x multiplier. So goku who walk in namek with pvl of 90,000 with maxing out to kaoken x20... he probably would push himself to x40 and still had no chance, based on this skit. Even with ssj, which is a 50x multiplyer. But knowing the character of goku, he d probably use a sensue to squeeze out a win on this hypothetical match up with zenkai boosts. His first zenkai brought him to 3 million... so once sensue should be enough...and since he pushed himself to kaoken x40 here...he should be able to easily release kaoiken x40 again after 1 zenkai getting him the win...
If ginyu bardock went ape...cause he has his tail then yeah I'd imagine goku would still win due to knowing to take the tail off or goku would go ssj still getting the win. Again this is after one zenkai from goku
I believe Hyourin set "Bardock" to have a power level of 200,000 in base according to his powerscaling video

It's an interesting What-if, that, given the background we now have about Saiyans, would actually be a good decision for Ginyu to make. But, realistically, I do not think he would have made it. His original body was stronger than Bardock's and Saiyans were viewed as low-class warriors anyway.

maybe in this timeline he didn't find his purple body and decided to use Bardock's body (since it's canon now that the purple body he uses is not his original body)
