I'm riveted by the beauty and majesty of it all..........Two white women in the splendor of a forest............Incredible, ancient music coming from their hands (and souls)........It's like a journey back in time to a place where beauty and Nature reigned supreme......and a reminder that the earth is not necessarily doomed.......The magic and majesty of this music touches my soul...........
Ahh, I wish the hammered dulcimer was more popular in modern music. To me there are very few instruments that rival the amount of emotion and serenity its music creates. This is a wonderful song.
You two really ARE cosmic sisters...bringing us all that angelic consciousness from a place long forgotten in our soul's past through the tones of your beautiful hammering.
A beautiful reflective tune played by two equally beautiful girls. it has a hint of sadness, joy and love about it........... perfect. x Great to see it played in their garden; loved the miniature version of it too. Great instrument.
The two of you are just beautiful -and i don't mean the outside only- and your playing is a delight to watch and hear. Funny how the traffic passing by does not disturb the music: somehow it sounds like waves falling on the shoreline, adding a nice special efffect to your little concert!
2 to 4 at once is Heaven enough for me.. not sure my poor old soul could handle hearing 100,000..but oh, the harmonies of that many would be absolutely something out of this Universe. :o}
LOVE Rich Mullins music. There was a man of God. Not because he thought himself one. He struggled w his own self worth for a long time, but knew it and pressed on to glorify God by his raw honesty and straight up love for Jesus. He & Keith Green were amazing.
Very artistic. Well done ladies. You have made me have discovered a nice musical instruments. My wife who plays medieval music, likes you work as well. You should on all medieval festivals in Europe. The best would be that you go the the Medieval Festival going on every four years in Quebec City. See you there.
It is nice to see other people playing various versions of hammered dulcimer and going green with the music of the future which will hopefully be acoustic and not overly electronic. We need some peace and beauty in music in the midst of the confusion and violence in world politics. Let's all go green in music by going acoustic. Dr. Lloyd Miller, (santur player and originator of Oriental Jazz in 1960).
I find myself returning frequently to this video as inspiration while learning to play the hammered dulcimer. Such a wonderful piece of music! I'm inspired by your skill and hope to play this myself someday. Thank you for sharing your brilliant talent with the rest of us!!!
beautful music and beautiful musicians....the musics complex in its simplicity, its so pleasing to the ear and soul, have you ever thought of joining with a small early music band? a virginal and some other early music instruments would fit so well with your music, like a modern take on 1500's folk music, im willing if you are!
It is amazing how different you styles of playing are with Emily seeming to be really calculative and you dizz just seeming like you know where to hit and just have fun doing it and you both just blend wonderfully it is amazing watching this video I can't stop watching you girls kick ass on the dulcimer keep up the good work
You still haven't really. The best way is live. I have never heard a recording or even amplified version sound as intricately beautiful as the instrument does naturally.
Brava! Although I don’t play dulcimer, I hope you won’t mind if I arrange this for guitar and mandolin giving credit where credit is due of course. I don’t think it while quite capture the essence of playing on dulcimer though
Another fantastic performance. I wanted to due to tradition, learn to play the Mountain Dulcimer. However, the more I watch of your videos, especially what you and your sister can do with a myriad of instruments being fused together, the more I want to learn the Hammered Dulcimer instead. Thank you for sharing the great music.
I stumbled onto this video and because of it I'm going to be learning how to play. Thank you for opening my ears to such beautiful music. :) You play wonderfully.
