I love the laughter at the end. I've read that Beethoven would laugh his ass off when he would improvise, he'd be so delighted. I know that feeling. Nobody ever understands the laughter unless you've been there. Then you can't stop giggling.
I think that is the best cover of Africa that I have ever heard. The marimba was amazing! Ted, you rocked it. My eyes, ears, and heart are happy! Thank you!
I had the privilege of seeing these 3 perform this live last evening. The fun they had in this video was duplicated in live concert too. They have a fantastic binding friendship that mixes the perfection of their talents into magic. Ted has always had a soothing sound that relaxes the soul and now he has added more to that relaxing with Sarah and Doug's beautiful artistry. Thank you Sarah, Doug, and Ted for one of my most memorable evenings!
Donnie - this really warms our hearts, thank you! We were first fans of Ted and then friends and it's really exciting and humbling to think that we could add anything to what he was already doing musically. Thank you for being part of a wonderful Northeast experience!!
And now my son wants a Marimba to play along while I learn the dulcimer. I can thing of no better gift than music There is no price I will not pay for this gift
bfarm44 cool! There's more on the market now than ever before and the prices are reasonable if you look for something used. Please let us know if we can help connect you with a seller.
I saw and heard Everybody wants to rule the world that's why I came here...Wow I am amazed by the way you play the dulcimer with great accuracy the music was very pleasing to ears reminds me of my younger years...the background was great too...more music please
Thank you so much! I am almost 75 and your music in the Colorado landscape turned some very sad memories back into the good memories they originally were. My father told me the hardest part about getting older is having to say goodbye forever to those we loved. He was so right but music helps us to transports us back to the good chapters of our life's stories!
That was gorgeous.. I listened to it three times. I am going to have to put it on a continuous loop, until I finally get tired of it. The interaction between the three musicians adds so much too. They are enjoying the music, enjoying playing together and you can telll… they know they sound good!!!
I love the sound of a hammered dulcimer. Wanted one for years. I'm finally about to get one! Used to be an old man that made them that I'd see at a local festival every year. He'd let me sit for hours playing them. Never had enough money for one then. Wish I could've gotten one of his. I'm sure he's long gone by now. That man could play the hell outta his dulcimers!
Hope you got your dulcimer, I just found out about them reading the Bible I wondered what it was and googled it I really like this instrument, I play guitar and some brass I think I could learn this but they are expensive I looked at that as well
This is not what gramps played frozen in time. Fantastic! Loved the ensemble! Wow! BTW - growing up on the farm myself and having played "folk" harp I appreciate the setting more than I can simply say.
Beautiful scenery and a beautiful rendition of the song. The old farm plow made me a bit homesick for where I was born and raised. Nice videography. We often, see double rainbows here. Everything was just fantastic!

MAN I LOVE THIS! Ted, with your talent advanced to EPIC levels down through the years, and the addition Doug and Sarah to your band, dude, y'all are KILLING IT! Can't wait to hear you in Cookeville, TN on Jan 10, 2020!
The way they did this was simply AMAZING. Im not even a big fan of music in general but this sounds better than the original. The marimba is magical. I didnt even know what a hammered dulcimer was or a marimba till i found Teds videos.
Absolutely perfect. You guys did this song justice. I enjoyed Weezer's cover too, but this is so organic. Great job all around, those not on video either.
This version literally made me cry uncontrollably and like a baby. It's both beautiful and hits the soul. So therapeutic, inspiring and heartwarming🥰 A perfect harmony and is sheer perfection. Great job to all and a huge thank you. 💕
It isn't often that a song that I don't care for one iota, becomes pleasant to my ear, by a totally different instrumentation and arrangement! Thank you for that!
Be blessed, be human, be kind.... Loooove the version of this song! The instrumental is amazing. Hard to find in search engines unless you type in Dulcimer.
Wow an awesome collaboration from 3 amazing musicians in a beautiful location sounds and looks amazing you all seem to have had a fabulous time creating this video. Thank you so much Ted Yoder and friends and Donna for the film work. Love the album Ted💜🎵
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! So great on so many levels . The setting the sky the music the PEOPLE the SONG the laughter the VIDEOGRAPHER! Tears shed with gratefulness to you ALL. Especially those Colorado friends. 😉❤️ And that 🌈 !! I think your Dad approves Sarah. 😘
Awesome version, Ted. I'm learning from your videos. I'm a degreed percussionist that played orchestral percussion for Ray Charles on Florida tour dates back in the 90's. I had a Jerry Reid Smith dulcimer 20 years ago...sold during hard times. Recently got a 15/14 andI'm getting back into it. Wish I could study privately with you but I live in Steamboat Springs CO. SIGH!
Hey Kevin, so nice to meet you and I'm glad you're getting back into the hammered dulcimer. I can do zoom lessons if that's something you're interested in. I also have friends out in CO Springs and if you're not signed up on my emails list, come do that please. You'll be the first to know when I tour that way. www.tedyoder.com and fill out the form on the main page. Thanks again. Would love to talk music/drumming with you sometime.

Why doesn't this video have more likes and views?? It most definitely is the best instrumental cover ever!! And I'm sharing this gem with my friends!!! :) P.S.: I play the Chinese hammered dulcimer (Yang Qin) and now I'm inspired to bring it to a park and play it there!!! Hahaha. Greetings from Singapore, btw. :)
The best you have going for you besides your beautiful playing abilities is that calming background. Woodstock was held in a field. Keep going weather it is spring, summer, fall, winter. This is stunning.
Literally got goosebumps when that rainbow shot came on the screen
It was an epic day to record in the middle of a cow pasture in CO. LOL
That has to be the all time best cover of Africa ever done.
I love the laughter at the end. I've read that Beethoven would laugh his ass off when he would improvise, he'd be so delighted. I know that feeling. Nobody ever understands the laughter unless you've been there. Then you can't stop giggling.
