- Ken Jeong and Joel McHale take a jab at Jo Koy's Golden Globes jokes at the 75th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which aired on Fox. The 'Community' alums poke fun at Jo's defense of his now-panned monologue, which the comedian claims was written less than 10 days before landed the Globes hosting gig.

Joe did a great job. I really don't know why so many celebrities seemed to have a stick up their bums. It's such a hard gig & I think it's pretty gross that other comedians would pile on him knowing it's a gig nobody wants anymore.
Not only that, JOKOY was hired 9 days before the awards show! Just give the guy a break. I bet most comedians wouldn’t be able to reform well in that timeframe.

@daniellesullivan9883 I guess entertainment is subjective, but he objectively delivered jokes that were innocuous and basic funny. He did do a very good job and the audience were bafflingly awful. If you've only watched the highlights then you don't have a good idea of what he delivered anyway because so many of the reviews of the highlights are biased.

Honestly, I don't find these presenters funny, and hardly know the references they're using but since everybody in the room is laughing, I might as well laugh too and pretend I understand the joke. Laughter is contagious, and familiarity plays a big part for jokes to trigger the first few laughs. Unfortunately for Jo, the GG crowd isn't familiar w him and the few laughs he had isn't enough to infect the rest of the audience. Even Ricky Gervais, whom hollywood find the funniest, will fall flat with his dead pan & dark humour if his audience were of different culture.

The difference between Jo and Ricky is that Gervais actually knew his audience and flat line had good relations with the a lot of the producers and actors.
Jo was really cocky and nervous in this monologue and all of his deliveries.
His Hosting was basically like going back to your high school reunion and the unfunny dude that never made conversations with people all of a sudden wants to speak out in front of the world trying to be funny.
A true comedian never apologizes for their material because it’s based off true events.
