im 17 rn and ive been playing paladins since i was 11, even though i love this game a lot and i will never leave it, there are several things that the devs should do to improve the game, like bug fixes, losing tp for inappropriate reasons (teammate disconnecting), champion balance, communication, advertising the game, and more. I really hope they try their best to improve this game and do it because they want to, not because they have to.

Gigantic is a rerelease that is buggier and more broken than paladins, and overwatch is pretty much going to shit itself, they are literally talking about 6v6 again. Im not saying there is no competition (there definetly is) but those two (which are the most similar to paladins) are not good themselves. (Maybe Marvel Rivals is gonna be decent, but im not keeping my hopes up)

I mean... Respectfully your point about kryptek only engaging in andrews chat is unfortuntaly true. I watched EM Strixes cast the PPS. And they were so supprised by the high level play, the way the top teams used the champions, the way the game PLAYS! It shows such a extreme case of disconnect! it would be nice if they actually watched and engaged with other communities, some if the higher levels of play. They would get a better understanding of the game AND the issues! They dont need to talk in the chats, just go there and watch. Watch high level videos. Watch high level streamers. So they understand the game. I think this lack of understanding is the issue WHY they cant balance for high level. Or even for new players! they lock themselves in an echo chamber of communities, which is how so many bad decisions get made. (The community is ass tho)

At most, I see high Elo players stomping low Elos in ranked, because there's fewer and fewer players to match with and no official professional scene. I guess they can watch high Elo matches in-game through the replay feature, since ranked matches are kept recorded until a new patch is released. It is two different worlds, though. On average, Diamond+ players play for longer hours and have played the game for a longer time overall, play with better settings and better equipment, interact with/learn from other high Elo players, know a lot of small tidbits of information about the game that make a lot of difference, plan their actions far ahead, keep track of everyone's position and cooldowns, are more focused on the game and have more awareness/intelligence. I see low Elo players complaining they botched Seris by replacing the talent that would let her heal while in Shadow Travel and that the new Talent is complete garbage, all the time. What I mean is, balancing for High Elo is balancing for a minority, it is about as alienating as balancing for Bronze, which is also a minority, except nobody aspires to be Bronze and people do aspire to be GM. I guess we're so invested into finding the essence or perfection of play, the "true game", that we lose sight of the fact that we "true players" are by large a minority. With that I'm not saying the devs shouldn't try to reach a compromise and balance in a way that makes sense for all Elo ranges, _including_ high Elo, it is just that that's hard and our experience is not the average experience. Idk, where I'm going with that, I'm kinda sleepy right now, so I feel like I'm just mumbling at this point.

But I think even understanding of the game by watching high level play, would allow the devs to understand the game better and balance around newer casual players as well and hopefully find that balance you mentioned! I had a seris player try the new talent out and they said how it was terrible... But it was the best healing I had ever received from a seris in my life, and literally won us the game (they didn't know what caut was)
I'm quite late to replying to this, but I watched this video a while back and wanted to think more before I came back to this comment. First, its fair to criticize how frequently I'm in someone like Andrew's chat (though I do also frequent other streamers like Nerd and Zarini, usually the current Partners) and it's something I want to do better about moving forward. I often watch and consume things from all spaces, but I got increasingly bad about commenting mainly due to a few too many moments where certain chunks of the community didn't respect the dialogue. Enough excuses though, I'm still committed to doing better like I said on Twitter. We've been working to do better between the Developer Insight blogs & more quick responses to large scale player issues on communication side, but we still have a ways to go. I want to also comment on our understanding of the game, because I think players rightfully don't perceive us as understanding because we often make changes that are scattered in focus. We do make some high-level aimed changes, but equally make new player changes and at times it can come off extremely unfocused. That's another area we want to improve communication in. I appreciated this comment when I first saw it and am glad to respond now to it, hope the efforts end up felt! 💜

OTHER PEOPLE BOUGHT CHAMPIONS WITH CRYSTALS ON ACCIDENT TOO?? i literally had three champion tokens, I was buying my second to last champion and I had to spend HOWEVER MANY CRYSTALS of my already limited funds but i thought it was honestly on me for not realizing it, but god yeah it's straight up bugged edit: I've been playing since 2019 or so, and quite literally I only completed my champion roster last month. I'm level 300 almost.
Bro honestly since last patch i just played 5 ranked games placed p1 and never touched it since. I am sorry but balance desicions for this patch is just worst. Hope they do better in the future but again i have my doubts on that as well
well yeah that’s the appeal of any character-forward game. characters have lore that entice the player, and some will play the game for that, whereas others play the game just for gameplay. people still play gundam evolution (paladins but with gundams) because gundam go brrr. people have played io only since she came out just because they like playing as a cute small healer
Let’s not get started on the UI if your playing on a stretched screen. you can’t even navigate half of the settings if your using 5120x1440. The settings are almost completely unusable unless you already know where to click. Unless I’m doing something wrong tell me. Half the information is just completely off the screen
Try to press Alt+Enter, youoll enter windowed mode. from there you should be able to change graphics settings. then you can press Alt Enter again to get fullscreen.
Top play . 3 ban first one in mid( I feel like there's a lot of strong chams and they don't get nerfed for years like khan idk why). And They can watch more streamers you know not just Andrew watch ranked streamers see what they want too . Overtime in payload
