I've never used mine yet and don't remember how to assemble it so watched this, thank you

Thank You! I fiddled for about half an hour before I decided to see how it is done on this video. Like most artists, seeing is believing.

I so appreciate this video. I'm on the verge of switching from my wooden french easel; I'm just trying to figure it all out. :)

Such a great paint box! I love mine and can't wait to go exploring with it.

Brian Mark Taylor, I have accessed your website and expressed my interest in purchasing a Mid unit with the two nested side panels. I was informed that the only way to purchase the items was to use the on=line access. I don't use credit cards, and therefore offered to send a check or money order. I could send cash if that would be acceptable. If none of those options were available, then I assume I will not be ab le to enjoy the use of a Strada unit. I would say that is a double loss, mine and yours.

This product idk man I've been an artist 20 yrs and a pochade box can fit more, better storage, thicker, great for pastels like I use. Idk if I would ever use this. Maybe one day we will feature it in our art magazine and review it.

I assembled exactly as directed but the connection from the easel to the tripod has a slight give to it - a little wobble - not a totally tight fit. I have the watercolor package that includes easel, tripod and tray. Can you advise what I can do to get a tight fit?

How(why) is gamsol safer than turpentine?

  • @AmeriFanPicker

Pondering one of these. What holds the upright (lid) in place in the upright (painting) position? Is there any sort of lock mechanism or is it just tight hinge tension?

    • @BryanMarkTaylor

      Great hinge tension.

Bryan Mark Taylor let me ask this....does it only go back so far? Meaning....my laptop can angle back almost completely flat. Does this stop at like 110-120 degrees or so. Or does it keep doing and it's just reliant on the hinges? How long are the hinged guaranteed to not loosen and weaken?
I'm more of a 90 degree painter. I typically don't angle it back beyond 90...now granted this is mostly for small gouache paintings...so I'm not gonna be early as heavy handed as I am with oils and my french easel. But still...just would feel better knowing I could lock it in.

It can go back nearly 180 degrees. If you prefer to lock it at 90 degrees you could use the windbar.

STRADA Easel well I got my strada and tripod etc. Yeah the hinge is pretty stiff we'll see how it lasts. Right out of the gate, I'm not that impressed with the tripod. Those little tabs that you press to fold the legs up (or orient one leg out farther) they should be adjustable in small increments. I find that the footprint of the tripod is not nearly as large as it could be for greater stability. Especially with one leg section not extended (it's simply too tall with all fully extended even with the center mast fully collapsed). I may return it?
Second...you really should consider manufacturing a version of the mini that is oriented 99 degrees. It could still hold a large enough panel for 95% of the artists using these for smaller panel painting. Assume the mini side trays would work. Just a suggestion.

I bought my strada in the spring. I really like it but my little thing on the bottom of the box does not have a ring to twist it tighter. It has a screw which is a pain if I forget my screwdriver. How can I get the ring kind?

    • @haleytaylor7316
      @haleytaylor7316 6 років тому

The ring comes with the tripod and not the pochade box. If you get a ballhead like the Manfrotto it will have a ring to tighten.

The quickplate Is tripod specific. You would need to get another tripod to get one with a ring.

Good informative video. Camera work terrible, sorry. Way too much moving around, makes me dizzy watching.

Ditto! Fire the videographer! Madness! Half the time the camera operator wasn’t even showing the product features. Just like a painting box needs a tripod so does a camera. Storyboarding also helps Yeesh. Needed Dramamine to get through that. Box looks like it might be ok though.
