I remember Fat Albert, The Electric Company (1971-77), and the Children's Television Workshop children's programing when I was a kid back in Brooklyn NY. During the 70's and 80's and living in the projects, I saw things that I never should have at that age (7 to 12 yrs old). Running home after school to watch these shows probably saved my life. I remember this show! It's been decades, so I had completely forgot that it existed. The Ray Parker tune was definitely the best way to start a show. It didn't last long, only a few months, I think, but there were a lot of guest stars that would show up, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Sammy Davis Jr. It actually was a pretty good show. It was part of the Saturday cartoons.
When this show aired, I was 10 years old. And I’ll never forget a particular episode where this black kid’s parents were getting a divorce. Now understand my parents have been married for over 50 years and have always been in my life. So as a kid, my young mind couldn’t understand how his parents could divorce. I thought that if they truly loved each other, they could work things out. But as a 49 year old man, I completely understand now! lol I was innocent and naïve. Now I know that even love can’t keep you together. But I’ve never forgotten about that episode.
Loved this show when I was a kid! My introduction to Richard Pryor was Superman III, The Toy, and this show. Didn't learn about his stand-up career until I was a little older. I remember thinking how cool it was that Gus from Superman had a Saturday morning show. And that theme song? So smooth. Days gone by.

Richard Pryor was such a great actor one of the best in the world. I just watched JoJo dancer. Your life is calling. It was so crazy watching it again.
I always liked Richard Pryor because he was hilarious in everything he was in. I never knew that he had a kids show on CBS in the mid-1980s so this is a treat. I've always been a fan of Ray Parker, Jr. and Raydio and Ray Parker, Jr. performing the theme makes the show even more awesome!
I'm 52 years old, and I never knew about this show. I love, and grew up watching, and listening to Richard Pryor albums . I don't know how I missed this show.❤
I didn't get to watch too much of his movies and comedy shows as a kid for obvious reasons. But I remember in 1985, at 8 years old, my parents went to a get-together some friends were having with card playing, drinking, and socializing on a Saturday night. While the adults were socializing and the other kids were hanging out, the hosts had HBO and I watched Bustin' Loose. I laughed so hard and thought that it was so cool watching it. It was one of Pryor's best movies. And a good time from my childhood.
This is a true classic. Richard Pryor was so good in doin this for himself n the kids. It a shame it got cancelled. N love Ray Parker's Jr song for it. Mis this.

I somewhat remember this show back in the mid 1980s as a teen...memories. damn! I think this was in 1985
The innocence of TV back then. It's like a time capsule. Things change that's part of life. Too bad it's not always for the better.
Just SLIGHTLY before my time. I never knew this existed. But I'm glad I found this. It's amazing. It's a nice peek into the world of programming of the day. Very fascinating to see Richard Pryor make something very family oriented and entertaining. Such a juxtaposition from how crazy his specials were 😅
Its almost like a blueprint for Everybody Hates Chris.
Oh man oh man, do I remember that show! Ray Parker was in his prime back then, and Richard Pryor? Oh yeah! It was a great show. Pleasant memories! Rest in power Richard.
And he got mudbone too I'm sold, love Richard Pryor he s still number 1 in my books rest n power
I remember this well. I WAS shook to see it on UA-cam after ALL THESE years ‼️.😃👍🏽
I watched this show during the 80s I was 18 years old when it premiered but I thought it was a fun show that did display Richard's many acting talents
I remember this show, I loved it. Ray Parker singing the intro was slammin.
Born in 79 and i remember this show😭
I can't believe I missed this wonderful series. Good job Mr. Richard Pryor!
I'm 50 and I remember this show!
WOW 😱. I had almost forgotten about this classic. What great memories. R.I.P. Richard Pryor..-- UA-cam, Facebook and these other tools of modern technology today are true miracles. They sure don't show good classics like this on regular TV or cable anymore.😅😂🤣
I remember this show use to watch it all the time. ❤😊
