- I had the chance to tour a special place in RIo De Janerio called Little Africa. It is located where the African presence has left a living heritage, which shows and is thriving to this day. It showcases struggle and resistance. Brazil was the destination of at least 40% of all Africans who arrived as slaves in the Americas between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. Out of these, about 60% entered through Rio De Janeiro's port, almost a quarter of all Africans enslaved in the Americas.

Mostra luta e resistência. O Brasil foi destino de pelo menos 40% de todos os africanos que chegaram como escravos às Américas entre os séculos XVI e XIX. Destes, cerca de 60% entraram pelo porto do Rio de Janeiro, quase um quarto de todos os africanos escravizados nas Américas.
