I take delivery of a 2.5 t machine today. Plan to dig out 100 stumps that big and smaller. It’s going to take me weeks by the looks of it. But my soil is really loose and sandy.

Good job man. That gets me stoked, just got my first mini ex (2006 JD 35d). I also run a small tree service so I'm definitely gonna try this out , on the lookout for a ripper pick attachment

that toy excavator on that stump was a boy on a man's job. However, you knew the right way to go about it. well done.

The past few week I've dug 5 stumps this size by hand. I have 6 more and considering hiring one.

It is often little better than a large excavator.
I'm digging stumps on Caterpillar 390D L, weight 90 tons. Bucket is 5 cubic meters, 11.8 meters depth range.

He is a novelist, using his stick cylinder to break routes, he should use his bucket cylinder, which has 30x the power to break routes.

I haven't written any novels but I'm definitely a slow amateur when it comes to excavator operating ;)

That stump was determined to stay in the ground. I wonder how long it would take 2 teenagers with picks, shovels and a chainsaw to remove it? How much would you charge to dig it up and take it away?

I've had to remove them by hand before. Good workout but takes a while.
