My 5 Year Journey to Recovery: Finally Emetophobia-Free!

  • Bloss’s journey to Emetophobia-Free wasn’t a quick one. It took Bloss years of re-reading the manual and applying the skills to get where she is today. Bloss explains that she put more effort into overcoming her fear than she did to anything she did at school! She read the book up to 5 times, made lots of notes and posters that she stuck up around her house, had a reminder that popped up on her phone each hour to remind her to check in with her thoughts and she listened to all the videos and podcasts on the go as often as she could. Bloss really immersed herself in the world of Emetophobia-Free and stayed determined that one day she would be over her fear.
    That day came earlier this year when she reached out to us on social media and asked if she could help to spread the word about Emetophobia-Free as she was finally over her fear and the programme had totally changed her life.
    Bloss had suffered with an overwhelming fear of being sick since the age of 9. She went through the Emetophobia-Free programme in 2018 and after working incredibly hard is now proud to say she has cured herself of her fear!
    Bloss has recently got married and her husband was sick twice in the week after their wedding. Bloss described her reaction to this and the stark difference to what it was like when others were ill around her when she has Emetophobia.
    Bloss’s advise is to persevere “Don’t give up on it, it’s not worth living with Emetophobia for life!”
