Ride the Cyclone but it's just Ocean being Ocean

- Hello! I hope you enjoyed this video and as I am hyperfixated with Ride the Cyclone I will be making a video for each member of the choir. Subscribe and turn notifications on ;D
So as I mentioned in my discord i'm kinda switching my content for a while. I will return to gaming eventually but I kinda lost motivation and RTC filled me with it so here we are! Dude I adore Ocean so much her character is so compelling and amidst all of that shows how a tragic case she is.
A girl who wanted to separate her identity towards her family, a girl who gave her blood sweat and tears to get straight A's, be high school president and choir captain for so many years, she really was building a life and striving for a new life outside Uranium and yet she died before she could experience the freedom and joy of being someone outside her town.
The beauty of her redemption is that it was always within her, she really is an earnest and genuine person her pride and ignorance just blocks the view of the pain that she gives to others. Even from the start she asks "why only one of us why not all of us", her apologizing to constance with the organ donor comment, her saying she champions Noels sexual discovery, her sympathizing mischa and trying to relieve him, then her reaction to ricky surrendering, janes crisis and constances solo it truly shown just how kind she is to her classmates.
What she did and said sometimes was inherently wrong but just like a certain rtc youtuber said intent vs impact should be remembered. She was brash, pampered, insensitive yet well-intentioned, sympathetic and genuine.
I love Ocean!

I haven’t seen many Ocean comps so far, most likely because she comes across as the least likeable. But to me, I think she’s the one RTC character with the most depth, so I adore her now :) Thanks for the Ocean higlights, chief
She's my favourite character because I really liked her when she was more narcissistic. I don't like her after her redemption much though, I enjoyed her the way she already was more.
If I showed this to my friends, they would say “this is literally you”.

THIS. IS SUCH AN INTERESTING COMPARISON--cause listen i love ocean and i hate rachel and had to figure out why tf that is?? and I think I got it. So, both of them try to be the best, and both would throw other people down to get to the top. But it's different.
Ocean is a people pleaser, teacher's pet, whatever. She has worked her ass off to curate that specific personality, that of the teacher's pet, with the goal of getting somewhere in life as a result of her hard wor. She's just so so motivated to put in the work to win at shit, even the most arbitrary things, and I have to respect her for that. Her drive to constantly improve HAS to be based in some level of insecurity that she's not good enough which is pretty tragic. In her head, she was better than the rest of the choir because she's the only one who actually TRIED to be the best at anything. Hard work is her metric of fairness.
Rachel has NO such metric. Rachel is self-driven, close-minded, and unabashedly confident where she shouldn't be. She was born with talent, and to her, that makes her better than everyone else. When she receives criticism from authority, she chooses to shut them out and say they're not worthy of her or don't understand her. She gets rewarded for her bad, selfish behavior--and every judge of character in the show only reinforces this. So whenever Rachel does something seemingly kind, you know she's not being actually genuine because she never learned the lesson that empathy is a worthy investment.
Closing thoughts: Ocean got where she got through active hard work. Rachel did not. We also see Ocean does harbor genuine regret for how she treated others, and she changes to recognize that empathy should take priority over winning. Rachel just...never changes, is never willing to, even when given chance after chance to reflect on her mistakes.
@@melcowan6896I love both characters a lot but I don't like Ocean after her redemption, more from before she changes for the 'better' even though I don't like her as much after.

At my retreat my leader I guess looked like her (like a carbon copy) and I asked her if she knows what ride the cyclone is and she looks like ocean. Me and my friend kept yapping about ride the cyclone and how ocean is the best (AND MY RETREAT LEADER SHE ACTUALLY WAS SO NICE) and she took is as a compliment AND SHE SAID SHE’LL LOOK HER UP‼️
