Thanks for the model Nick. Just needed it as i'm bout to order this mill and want to start designing an enclosure for it before I receive it. Do you think a noise enclosure is necessary in a apt. garage? Also, is coolant 100% necessary in your opinion when cutting metals? Just taking things into consideration since i'm already building the noise box, may go ahead and add drainage into the design. Thanks for all the help.
I had mine in my apartment living room for a while before I could take it to my dayjob office (RD). The compressor for the air and coolant mist was actually louder than the cutting. You 100% need lubricant for aluminum, otherwise the chips will clog in the flutes. Steel you can cut dry, but lubricant will help there. , You don't need a mister, and can simply use a brush with oil, or WD-40. Another issue in an apartment will be the smell of the lubricant. If you are in a garage in your apartment and the neighbors won't care, then use make an enclosure to keep the chips down and the coolant in, is my opinion.
@@RodlessReel There is a really good FB Taig group if you are on FB. Lots of good info there and lots of mods. There is one member who also made CAD available for a sheetmetal enclosure.
You are crazy! Thank you, just the same.
Awesome work 🔥
Wow, that's quite a bit of work. Nice!
Awesome! I started the same modeling project of the older style mill a while ago, and never finished.
