- Ima. The popular Japanese hard lure brand. Their products, Komomo and Sasuke, are standard lures for Japanese Seabass Fishing. Both lures are Japanese Classic lures with a long history. Considering how big sensations they brought to the scene, we can’t ignore them when talking about the Japanese Seabass Lure history. In this video, I’m using Ima Sasuke Reppa 120 catching a couple of good size Calico.
I know in California, everybody loves LC, Lucky Craft Flash Minnow for Surf fishing. I also like Lucky Craft as they also are a Japanese brand. But since everybody uses it and posts videos on UA-cam, I'd like to try a different thing. Then, I picked up this lure. Ima Sasuke Reppa 120. サスケ裂波.
Ima distributes their lures in the U.S. market but unfortunately, Sasuke can’t be found. It’s JDM. Sasuke is a masterpiece of Japanese Seabass fishing history as well as their another great lure, Komomo.

Greetings angler Waki, i have used the ima sasuke 120s in the past. I bought it from a vendor on ebay. Unfortunately i lost the lure during a failed cast as i was a beginner to the sport and had yet to refine my technique. I must say that although the luure is a bit on the pricey side, it is well built and visually stunning. Thank you for the video,and keep up the good work my friend

Yup. I used to be a huge fan of their metal jig.
Flash minnow, ha ha, never used in years. My favourite sea bass lure is Duo tide minnow slim -tide minnow sld very good also. Sasuke is a tougher lure, but I prefer daiwa td minnow 120sp it's a great sea bass lure even if designed for fresh water (shoreline shiner r50 ld etc were very similar, after all). TD minnow is still one of the best lures of all time.
I'd say it's up to conditions and preference what lure people pick up.
@@AnglerWaki Of course. But, I think the best lures are those that work great in many conditions. After all, you are using sasuke in calm conditions in video and it still works great.

Can you help me waki, I have bought a shoregun evolv mainly for shore jigging but can i use it for topwater lures like this? Or do i need a dedicated rod for lures like the one you've shown? Thanks waki.
I suppose if it's M or ML, then it would be able to handle this weight lures.
