I love that you’re transferring notes and plan to give it to your kids. It is a way for our kids to look back and see the world through our view for a little while. It I priceless. I wish my parents and grandparents did the same.

I love the Nlt! I've recommended it in a few of my videos because its helped me so much. I used to be a die-hard Nkjv and still love it but I'm trying out the Csb right now with Nlt as a supplemental. My brain struggles with Kjv as beautiful as it is 💕

Thank u for showing the pens. That is so helpful. I’ve never been one to write in my bible but it looks so pretty the way you did it and you don’t have to remember as much in your head. Thank you for sharing this info

Look at CRew and Co....they do recover bibles and I bet you would love what they do. There are some REALLY good rebinders, but I like the " more comfy" look that is their way of rebinding. I have considered buying a new bible and just having them put a new cover on.......Look at them.

Watching your review on this Bible again, you made some interesting points. I just put the order in from CB.

The one with the straps. Did the leather loosen with usage? Did you do something to make it soft? Thanks.

I haven’t noticed that the leather has become loosened.
The leather flap is so stiff that it’s difficult to use. I have ended up settling it up just for use when giving Bible studies so I rarely use it. I really do not like the flap because it’s right in the way and because it’s similar to hard plastic there is no way to move it out of the way while writing in it.

I have large handwriting so one concise note would take up half the column.. the struggle is real.

    • @biblenotetakingwithkatie
      @biblenotetakingwithkatie  Рік тому +1

That is the exact problem I am experiencing. I am using the Bible with the flap just to put in basic Bible notes in order to give Bible studies so it doesn't need to have as much info but the space is filling up faster than I imagined. I think the new Bible that doesn't have the flap will stay micro lettering but maybe it will be a little better because I plan out more what I write in there. I agree so much... the struggle is real!!.

That's wonderful!! It's such a great Bible! By the way, is your real leather Bible with straps also stiff like mine? I didn't know if it was a supply issue or if it is actually the way it's made. I am not sure why they would stiffen the real leather so much.

Yes it is. A very firm leather

You make some helpful objective comments on the facts, pros and cons, without being over subjective. E. G. Larger text means you can wrote more per verse and in between lines. Flap around could get in the way for a right handed person.
I find this much more helpful than people just saying it's pretty which is subjective.

I have the NKJV version of your KJV bible and my flap lays kinda flap and isn't stiff like yours. edited to add: Maybe you can use leather conditioner on it every so often to soften the leather up?

The KJV is a good translation, but like you I have to refer to another translation sometimes. I am writing down all the archaic words on separate paper

I like using 2 on-line dictionaries. Often copy/paste definitions into a word processor Bible study documents. They are the Websters 1828 Dictionary and the King James Bible Dictionary. I like the Websters because it often uses Bible verses as examples of word usage. And, it more closer resembles the word usage before modern culture altered the meanings. (Remember the song "When coke was a Coke.."). The KJV dictionary incorporates Websters and several more dictionaries, Plus, it has other information, such as how many times the word appears in the Bible.
Additionally Chick Publications has the King James Bible Companion By David W Daniels. It has the definitions of 600 KJV words along with where they are used in the Bible. It's only $.49. I've bought these and given them to people who have complained about "archaic words". I've also bought a number of other items from them, as well.
Hope you find this to be helpful in your studies.
      God Bless.
