You spoke about God bringing you plants that you didn't have but wanted in a video not to long ago. Well I had a similar experience this week. I have lived on our place since 1997 and never in all those years have I ever seen echinacea growing wild here. We do property walk arounds at least once a week to check fences and plant identifications with the grand kids to keep them away from poison ivy with constant reminders of what it looks like. Well this week my 8 yr old grand daughter spotted wild echinacea and was so excited to point it out to her momma and told her momma that it was medicine/ food for not just the bees but for people too. When her momma asked her how it was medicine for people she told her mom it's for tea and nana made a tincture for her immune system. I hadn't realized she was paying that much attention to what I've been doing and telling her when she asked questions. It was humbling that the Lord thought to bless me with wild echinacea.
Since you love going out to the high tunnel at night take a bucket of soapy water, gloves and a black light flashlight. Tomato hornworms glow under a blacklight. Have fun.
3 things that I tell myself I should bring to the garden every time is a bucket for weeds, jar with water for pests, and pruners for pruning! And a 4th would be basket for harvesting if the time is right😊
I grow basil with my tomatoes, it keeps the hornworms away. I’ve had very few if any since pairing tomatoes and basil…. I also add marigolds. I enjoy watching your videos ❤
The strawberries may be sad this season but leave them in regardless and next summer they’ll spring back to life, at least that was my experience. Thank you for being willing to show us the imperfect. We’ve all been there!
25 yrs of planting trees, gardening and preserving. The last 5 I've gone no till, food forest and harvesting plants I saw as weeds. I'm a nature addict! What you share is gold! Thank you❤
I love all your video's so much knowledge! So grateful love your bee hat and your chicken! You and she are so adorable. Thank you! ❤ beautiful property.. your kitchen wow. Your love always shines.
Friend, give yourself a break. You're great! I see you are so hard on yourself because I am too. It's my struggle too but let me tell you, be your own best friend!
Just found ur channel. Thank u for taking the time to share ur imperfections. This is so refreshing for me! Insta subscribed. This looks like my dream I'm working at building. Thank u so much and can't wait for more content!
Love, you are doing an amazing job! We all do what we can when it comes to planting. Hang in there and just keep watering your strawberries. I am sure they will make it. :) I LOVE gardening BUT it is a lot of work!!
We had a steady, but very light drizzle all day on Sunday but have otherwise had 0 rain in over a month!!!! Our pasture is turning brown, and I'm having to water my garden daily (different sections each day). Makes it very difficult to germinate seeds. Also probably the reason you don't have mushrooms yet. We are supposed to get a good storm tonight, hopefully... That baby chicken should take off if you get a good soaking. I'm also looking forward to learning how to start my own mushrooms... We have wild maitake, inky caps, blewitts, and a small amount of morels that show up on our property almost every year. Look forward to your apothecary videos!
Rain yes in Nebraska we are in a drought and not the first year , we are dry land farmers and of course all of my gardens ect, been trying to Save my newer plants and trees but it’s been a battle ! Prayers you get some too
Thank you, thank you for your garden tours! You're an inspiration! And I so enjoy learning about all the different herbs and "weeds" you're harvesting. I appreciate the knowledge you share :)
So tickled to see you doing your wild medicinal garden! We did this down on our bench below the house, and it has grown into just amazing place…and like you, we do much of our wild walks there. Please be sure to update us on the progress… so excited for you! I truly enjoy your videos and your viewpoints! Keep it going, ladybug! ❤
Hopefully you got some rain, we got.5 inches of rain last night I am here in Delaware it was a hard downpour but you got to take it anyway you can get it Thanks for another interesting video
I just love your bee veil and ever since I saw it in your video, I actually purchased one for my own bee yard. You really should put up an affiliate link, because you’re gonna sell a lot of them for the company. Thank you!
Sorry to tell you, it has been coming to Colorado...unusually wet June for us here. We have been receiving moisture since Mid May. Along with the melting Snow Pack, our Reservoir's are getting back to normal fill levels.
You have probably been asked, but I have to ask about your veil. I looked on the Amazon store, but it's not listed and I'm in love with it and need one in my life. By the way, I just found your channel and love the information and knowledge you share. The first video I watch was catching from the tree by allowing them to walk onto a frame. We had a late swarm on June 13th and I tried it. It was awesome to do it that way. Thanks again
Do not be discouraged. You do such a great job. I wish I was younger and in good shape so that I could do more. I do what I can, and I love my garden. My elderberry appear to have been wiped out.... my dear little leafy sticks were just planted and a wind storm came and stripped their leaves. Any idea if they might rebud? We'll see.
Thank you so much for your garden yours and your little walks you take. I have learned so much by watching and listening to you and your mom as I'm wanting to start a medicinal garden for my family. And getting my hands dirty as you say 😉. Be blessed
I have grown strawberries for years. In full sun of course. But the last 5 years, the sun has been so intense they need row cover in order to bloom, produce well, and not go semi-dormant. I cut sections of wire fence long enough to make a curve over the rows, and clothespins were actually sufficient to hold the cover on the fence. The fence has 2x4 square openings so I can lift the row cover and stick my hand through to pick.
Love your videos, you are certainly inspiring me to start my herbalism journey! My husband and I inoculated shiitake logs right around the same time that you did. We are in upstate New York and it has also been very dry here. We read that it is important that they get watered, so we purchased a 2 gallon pump sprayer and my husband mists them every day when we don't get rain. Thankfully we got a good rain 2 days ago and it looks like rain is in the forecast for the next week or so. Praying we both get to harvest shiitakes in the future!
I would love some passion fruit cutting Please 🙏 You have inspired me ans now I have my sister. I thank you for that. Looking forward for tincture video! ❤
I covered my transplants with wood mulch all around them and left the plants in a little well around them and clipped back dead leaves and them give them a good watering one or two times a day - I also covered them with filtered light from dollar tree blue baskets - the filtered light gives the plants a chance to recover - Any basket will do - I just like the blue ones to filter UV light a bit - I also give the plants a tea from steer manure about once a week to give them a boost as they recover... Hope this helps you.
Thank you for sharing your imperfect garden. Makes me feel better about mine being slow and having good and bad parts. I fight bindweed/morning glory instead of honeysuckle. Its and endless battle. Ive been resisting the urge to pull up my wild lettuce plants in anticipation of learning to tinture them! :)
What a nice place you have! And I love your dreams! I planted a little strawberry patch this year from plants my friend wanted to get rid of. But between very dry weather and bunnies, we haven't gotten any berries. Next year, I'll have to put netting over them when the berries begin to set. Those crazy critters eat them green! We had no rain for 3-1/2 weeks here in west central Ohio, then I went outside on Sunday, June 4, when it was very fray, and I could hear rain in the tree-tops, but none came to the ground. 2 days later, just a short rain--very nice, but not nearly enough. Sunday, June 11, we got nice steady rain all day. 1.3 inches! Yay! So I hope you got some of that rain.
Thank you for sharing your garden with us its beautiful. I seem to have a problem with the packet of Passionflower seeds that I have as NONE of them have germinated and I scored them, soaked overnight and still nothing! I will try again next year. Maybe its just not growing up because it knows I'm limited on patio space living in an apartment. It would have to be in a container. Blessings Hayley and Mom!💚💜🥰🌱🌱🏵🌻🌼🌸💮Are you interested in trading seeds? I will definitely be expanding my garden once I get into my forever home and can plant in the ground again. I have mostly medicinal herbs growing in my garden. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of herbalism, gardening, and homesteading.
I look forward to your videos. Constantly learning. Out of curiosity, have you made your own mushroom tinctures? Thank you for all you and your family do.
I love watching your videos! I have a question for you. My dog was diagnosed with heartworm and I am wondering if you know of a natural way to eliminate them? If not could you give me information of someone that could help? You are so inspiring and love everything you do. Thank you
I have been searching our woods for comfrey and I am not having any luck. Do you know if there are other plants or trees that comfrey often grows near? Love your channel!
How did a string hanging from the rafters get the name tomahawk hook? 🤔They don't look like tomahawks. With lighting there shouldn't be any reason you can grow Winter long with a lot of plants.🤣I foresee another tomato jungle again.😂No reason to not try and move the strawberries ya may loose some but still much better then starting from scratch again, just give them a lot of water. Wouldn't the Marsh-mellow root work best dried and ground up? 🤭Do you use that bloom to make😋Smores?😂
Question …do you use the flowers on the passion flower as well? You certainly have your hands full so much work but gardeners work is never done and always loved …stay blessed
@@TheHoneystead Also, you need to remove all fruit and blooms. The plants will sacrifice themselves to produce offspring and die if you don't. When you remove all that, it triggers the plants to take care of themselves instead.
Lavender will be a wonderful addition to that patch you are making over. Your bees will love it! My sister has a lavender farm, and has several hives on her property. One of the things she does to keep the weeds controlled, is to plant Dutch clover between her rows of lavender. Besides being a living mulch, it also provides another source of nectar for the bees.

I have had the best of luck by companion planting my strawberries with my asparagus. Maybe try transplanting one more time?

Hows the mushrooms logs doing

I saw your shade cloth. Put that over them and it will help them until they recover from shock
I have cucumber and spinach sprouting! (first timer attempt here) And my Hubby isn’t seeing any mushroom growth this year either. So dry!! (Zone 4b)
I look forward to your videos. Constantly learning. Out of curiosity, have you made your own mushroom tinctures? Thank you for all you and your family do.
I'm in 6B also.
I love watching your videos! I have a question for you. My dog was diagnosed with heartworm and I am wondering if you know of a natural way to eliminate them? If not could you give me information of someone that could help? You are so inspiring and love everything you do. Thank you
Have Ella do a rain dance! 🤣
❤️ your videos. I learn so much!! What is that squid, coral looking thing behind you in a frame?
Hey , How’s the honey flow going in your area? I’ve been waiting to start seeing more or your bee videos. Prince George, Virginia
YAY!!!!!!!
I think ill try doing the tomahawk tomato trellising method next season
You won’t be disappointed!!!
Be very careful with how tight you tie it on! You might decapitate your tomatoes if it's too tight. Ask me how I know 😅
I have been searching our woods for comfrey and I am not having any luck. Do you know if there are other plants or trees that comfrey often grows near? Love your channel!
Ok your vail where’d you acquire your vail?
Love your videos!
I'm growing 182 tomato plants this year 😅
Kaylee do you have a foraging or herbalism book you recommend? Sorry if youve answered this already, my notifications are spotty!!
I love my Peterson Field Guide to Medicinal Plants by Dr. Duke and Steven Foster!
Thank you!!
Where did you get your veil? The one that came with my suit makes me feel so claustrophobic and yours looks pretty open.
Everything is amazing 😊🌱🌱🌱
Can I ask what size your tomato high tunnel is?
You could just gently shake the flower stalks.

Flowers, leaves, and stems 💛💛💛
Did not see you at the Virginia State Beekeepers meeting this past weekend.
I know!!! Next year I am going to make sure to be there! I had a scheduling conflict🐝🐝
I am trying to learn more about medicinal herbs
Do you have any shadecloth you could put over the strawberries as they adjust? It might help the shock .
That’s a good idea!
@@TheHoneystead you might be able to loosely cover them, hold down fabric with rocks, if you don't want to use hoops, since its only temporary.

Do you heat you’re high tunnel , in the winter
Use a electric toothbrush on the flowers and it will pollinate them
With lime she neutralized my coconut
I am in the same grow zone but my yarrow is still small, no flowers yet. Why?
I keep trying to order the passion flower seeds but they keep getting canceled so far after 5 orders I don't know why the orders are canceled
No matter how hard I try I can not get passion flower to start😢
Hello how are you and nice video and nice and very beautiful lady 💯👍🏵️🥀🌹🌼💐🌸🌻🌷🌺 I am living from Pakistan and are you from?

Is marshmallow plant that you have the same as common mallow ?
I’ll share the scientific name as I know there are a few mallow varieties- Althaea officinalis 💛
