    Kwon is basically Daniel LaRusso without a wise master like Miyagi. Kreese's "No Mercy" attitude warped his psyche which was also already corrupted under Kim Sun-Yung and his granddaughter. His motto, "How do we defeat an opponent with heart?..By becoming heartless," is the foreshadowing of Kwon literally stabbing himself in his heart.

    Kwon's death made me understand the full concept of "no such thing as bad student, only bad teacher). The thing about having someone like Kreese as a teacher, is that they don't teach you how to handle defeat.

      @dragonfire4527 2 дні тому

      @@osmanyousif7849True, Dutch is a perfect example of this. While we don't know much about his past, it's heavily implied he was a kid with extreme anger issues and used Cobra Kai as an outlet for said anger. Even when Kreese choked Johnny in front of him, he didn't do anything to help, just turn his back while Tommy and Bobby try to stop Kreese.
      Same thing with Kyler Park. While Kyler did eventually redeem himself, before he joined Cobra Kai he was a selfish, self-centered, egotistical bully who showed no remorse for the stuff he's done including trying to get inside Sam's pants and attacking those weaker than him. Cobra Kai gave Kyler the skills he needed to become an even bigger bully than before, using Cobra Kai's no mercy philosophy to continue bullying others except doing worse things to his victims now that he knows karate.

    • @dragonfire4527
      @dragonfire4527 2 дні тому

      Well, sometimes while Kreese's no mercy mentality does things to a person; Johnny, Hawk and Miguel (briefly), sometimes Cobra Kai brings out what was already inside. Terry Silver for example upon seemingly atoning his ways and living a peaceful lifestyle, Kreese came back and screwed with his head, making Silver revert back to his old ways (except way worse than he was before as he's much more ruthless, pragmatic and vicious than ever). Terry Silver himself said he was living a lie and thanked Kreese for "helping" him get out of his own cage.

    It's very poetic how the student who embodied the teachings of Cobra Kai more than any had before, was killed by the most prized weapon of the dojang's founder (Kim Sung Yung), then owned by the current sensei (Kreese). Let alone the fact Kreese told him to be heartless and bro ended up stabbing himself in the heart.

    Kwon is basically Chozen, and would have changed with the correct mentor.

      The kid was too cocky and blinded by jealousy. The moment the kid decided to pull a knife on a guy he deserved the consequence he got landing on it.
      Kreese is obviously more understandable. Kreese was trying to stab Silver in the back because metaphorically Silver did that already by framing him and putting him in prison.

      @@obezy8705 Axel, Robby (and Miguel) are shown to be better in the end, though personally I think Axel is well clear of all of them and there isn't much difference between Kwon and the other two.
      The similarities with Chozen are still there, however. I definitely got strong Chozen vibes from Kwon throughout Season 6 and then there's the fact that he - like Chozen - fought with the intention to kill

  • @AdityaKapur96
    @AdityaKapur96 Місяць тому +245

    The main problem with Kreese is his hypocrisy. He claims to follow the idea of treating life as a war, and treats himself as a commander but he rarely gets down to fight himself, he looks for people or in this case teens to fight for him. Since the Karate Kid part I till Cobra Kai season 6, whenever he fights his opponents one on one, he never wins on sheer skill or power, either he looses the fight or someone comes to help him. He can only do surprise attacks. He never was a warrior and that is why he cannot teach that honor to anyone.

      To be fair to Kreese (this is the only time Kreese and fair have ever been in one sentence)
      Kreese views himself as a commander like u said
      And commanders do not fight they come up with strategies and such (correct me if I'm wrong IK very little about the various responsibilities of different ranked soldiers)

    Brandon H. Lee made me a fan, the acting portrayal of Kwon was dope in spite of the fact he didn’t have more screen time in Cobra Kai season 6 he gave us a memorable performance, a character who was brash yet insecure, outspoken yet doubtful, angry yet vulnerable, Kreese taught Cobra Kai strike first, strike hard, no mercy, because of those principles instilled and him forgetting the eunjangdo silver knife it lead to Kwon’s downfall and shocking demise btw Stryfe this was another great character analysis on your part too bro, also as you were talking I couldn’t help but think Apollo Creed did the exact same thing when he faced Ivan Drago in Rocky III

    I loved Kwons character not only because Brandon H Lee portrayal was amazing but I also related to certain aspects of his character, Kwon was realistically young chozen the parallel is clear as day, Chozen was able to be reasoned with before and after challenging Daniel to a duel with also Mr miyagi, Sato and other people near watching having all the attention on them, in Kwons case the only thing that could’ve prevented this which we see is Daniel trying to reach kwon before he charged in to fight Axel again in the middle of the brawl something so chaotic you wouldn’t even pick up on Kwon grabbing the knife if u we’re not fighting or focused in that direction, The sad reality is not everyone can be saved and I think Daniel has to learn that too, Kwon wasn’t an entirely horrible person, just misguided, used as a pawn for someone else’s gain, and that’s the another part of reality we can’t escape Kwons fate was truly unfortunate but fate is fate and if Daniel wasn’t meant to reach Kwon he wasn’t meant to

    I think the main reason Kwon lost is because of his over reliance on his fancy spins and kicks. Almost every time he went up against anyone we actually were introduced to, they tended to dodge or block his attacks because of how easy it became to see them coming. Against Robby if he'd just stopped with the theatrics and just fought seriously, he probably could've won, not saying WOULDVE but COULDVE. Against Axel, he had no chance, his fighting style was too all around and Kwon's was pretty one note.

    It really is a shame that for their last season ever, they decided to waste precious time going over what happened between Kenny and Devon, just for it to be resolved by a simple, "It's okay." It was just such a useless situation that ended in a very useless way. They also wasted too much time on Dimitri being mad at Hawk for not applying for MIT. It was just so stupid and immature. At one point, I kept asking why Dimitri was even there. He never was a useful character, and if anything, he was just annoying. Known is a tragic character he was genuinely skilled and could have turned his life around had things happened a little differently, he definitely had his issues but his senseis failed him. He'll never get the redemption that Chozen was afforded because of Kreese's relentless show no mercy strike first ideaology. Axel isn't to blame here, Kreese is. Whether Axel knew about the dagger or not, he was only defending himself. Terry Silver also shares some of the blame for setting in motion these events.

    I’m sorry but kwon is a definite sociopath. Shows no empathy through the series, has zero impulse control, literally attempts to kill someone in a fight he started. You can’t even blame his teachers as not even they could control him. Kreese just gave him permission to be a full on sociopath, allowing him to attack his own team (even though he in past seasons has told students the important of brotherhood and tribalism). This isn’t a no bad students only bad teachers situation, this was a kid who was clearly born evil, and honestly his death isn’t a tragedy in the slightest.

I’m sorry but kreese just essentially validated kwons sociopathy, allowing him to do what he wanted without repercussions. Imo Kwon got what he deserved. He was an uncontrolable psychopath and wanted to kill Robby as revenge for losing to him. He would have killed Sam and Tory too if they tried to stop him when he was stomping on Robby, and he wanted to kill Axel too since he knew he cant beat him in a normal fight, so he took the knife.
    Axel was basically the "hero" (even if he isnt a hero) for all of them. In the end he protected many people from a guy who was out of control and ready to kill. And maybe all of this is a hint what did happen in Miyagi s case back in the day.
    Back then: Miyagi vs Claramunt: Death
    Today: Kovacevic vs Kwon: Death
    Maybe Miyagi's opponent Claramunt was like Kwon, that he freaked out and was a danger for others. Miyagi always said karate is to "defend yourself and protecting otehrs", and maybe he did this there. He defended himself and protected others from a raging pyscho like Kwon was, and his name was Claramunt.
    About 7:40: Yes I think Kwon s kick hit Axel a bit in the stomach, it was a mixture of block and hit. But like we saw against Yoon, these kind of kicks dont hurt him. He winced a bit but wasnt hurt by it and ready to continiue.
    About Kreese: I think he and Silver learned their lesson now. This Cobra Kai no mercy BS leads to the death at some point. They both looked so shocked. Wolff wasnt there, seems it didnt touch him at all.

    Lol it would be a tragedy if the character showed something appealing to the audience, personally I was relieved and even laughed by how events turned out.

    I think Kreese doped up the other team. Basically this entire brawl and death was his fault

    Thats kwon fault for even taking it in the first place. What if that didn't happen and he killed Axel on live TV?

      It's both Kwon and Kreese's fault. The eunjangdo would've never come into play if Kreese never brought it with him.

      @StryfetheWarrior yeah it was pretty stupid of Kresse for putting it behind his back. Make me wonder why and the reason and it's plot Necessity for the outside universe Exposition.
