Whilst I love his newer music and am glowing about his growing audience, I do miss the tenderness of these earlier tracks from the pre-Nev guitar stomp pomp. A dusty raggle taggle of die hards gathering at arms length in the Star and Shadow. First time I met Richard, I think he just hard the first album pressed and bought me a pint at the Cluny to thank me for buying a copy. Things have changed somewhat, but heres a raised glass to Mr Dawson (and yourself) and the many excellent memories.
@@carlrosati8160 Hi Carl! Yes, those times were magical, weren't they! Tbh I wish I remembered more clearly those very early gigs that Richard, Kath Williams and me used to do in 1998-99, round the open mics, at the Cumbo, the Steamer, the Hoo-Ha Cafe and the Dog and Parrot... even then, they were both destined for... well, they were destined. I still think often about that moment when my heel hovered over his guitar for microseconds before it descended... Love the new S&S, but miss the old S&S... hope you're keeping canny!
thanks for the reupload. love this one
Lyrical perfection, and his first real masterpiece, in the sense of the old European craft guilds. Packs a massive emotional punch too. Love it x
