The biggest compliment you can give for those guys, is to let them do their jobs in peace without making stupid comments, trying to make them laugh or disturbing them in any way.
They are not some silly-looking puppets that are there for your amusement. They're professional soldiers who have been in real combat situations. It's very serious business and not all of them make it.

Ok I'm an American veteran, a proud member of the Cavalry branch. I served a million years ago, when dinosaurs and Cold Warriors proudly walked the Earth.
I've always had the greatest respect for the British Army, but let me share a small thing.
On the morning after September 11th 2001, I, like my whole nation, was in a state of severe shock. We were angry, grieving, and as a combat veteran I was deeply concerned for our troops who would soon be going into harm's way against an enemy that wasn't even a nation-state.
But that morning, for the first time in my memory [and I'm a military historian], band of the Guards Brigade played 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham. I am not a particularly demonstrative man, but I literally cried. The simple gesture of respect was a very moving moment for me. And I'm not the only one. I live near a major military base and our region has one of the highest veteran populations in the country. ALL of my fellow has-beens felt the same way.
If it means anything at all, please accept the respects and regards of an old cavalry corporal.

I feel closer to the royal family just by watching them here in the small screen of my phone. Now, watching this documentary and seeing a zoomed view of the palace, it made me realized how important the royal family is especially the Queen with all her Guards. It's a reality that they are not that easily accessible or a just a sight to see. And you're just one of those million tourists who peep by the gate or stand outside the gate. Seeing the Queen's Guard should be considered as privileged. How much more if you see the Royal Family themselves. My utmost respect to them! Salute.

This video of the British Grenadier guards was viewed by over 5 million people. I truly saw this for the first time. In the USA this ranked close to a top-ten performance. Thank you All3Media for the upload.

Such a great documentary! It must have been a surreal experience for both Steven and his mother and sister when he was on duty. I loved how he squeezed his sisters hand :D

Wow..just wow. I was assuming that these gaurds were just dorks in hats that had no value..but after seeing this...I would like to apologize for the ignorance. So much tradition and honor that comes with these guards its amazing. And the last part just hits home. This is just amazing. I was so focused on the U.S military, I never really thought to see it the way this documentary did. Cant wait to be able to talk to a British soldier.

Demitrius Castillo I never knew the guards, I just knew them as guards, never really thought of them as dorks

This is coming from a patriotic American teenager, and I just want to say....wow! We Yankees served with you Brits and fought together during WWII, and help each other. Apparently, some people in the comment sections are too stupid to pick up a history book. Some people say "SEALs are better!" or "Nah, the royal Marines!" or something. When I'm 17, I want to join the United States Navy, and aim to be a SWCC, and I hope to serve the United States of America, and her allies.
