How tf did they manage to get so much talent in one group. Like even groups like Odd Future and A$AP Mob have dead weight members. But every member or Brockhampton brings something unique and useful to the creative process. Very happy they exist.
To be fair, it seems as though ameer is taking the constructive criticism and has been more inventive with his flows in iii. That's the point of criticism, we all want to see them develop their talents and challenge themselves. Can't wait to see where they go from here.
Pretty sad that you didn't go into the lyrical content a bit more. Joba especially got to shine lyrically here in a way he couldn't in the previous installments
While that's something I really do appreciate it's not like it hasn't been done a bunch of times in the past. The Wall was the first time I ever heard that done. Im more interested in the purpose the skits serve.
So you give the band led by Kevin Abstract, a gay man, an 8/10, but you give proud heterosexual Cory Feldman a 10? I did not expect this from you Anthony... just two weeks after ordering my life-size poster of you to put on my wall. I'm afraid I will be lowering my Patreon payments from $200 to $100 from now on.
Honestly my favorite BH album. Saturation 3 one of my two 10/10 perfect albums. It feels new and clean all the way through without one sleeper moment. While there were some (albeit good) tracks like gamba or swim on the previous albums that kinda took me out of the flow for a few minutes, there is not one track on Saturation 3 I don’t absolutely adore. I’ve never met an album where i want to skip back to the previous song as much as skip to the next song as much as listen to the song thats on at the same time. This album is absolute brain candy for me. Great review Fantano!
dacdan yaboy I know this comment was a whole ass year ago, but you’re so fucking right. Stains is one of the best tracks on the album. No questions asked.
@@Lemmiwinks-cr8nri know this comment is also from 2 years ago but i start levitating as soon as i hear the first second of STAINS it makes me howl 🐺🐺🐺
Does anyone else feel like Anthony fantano missed a little bit of the point behind some aspects of saturation? For instance, he cites some disappointment in the reoccurring themes of brockhampton’s song like issues with sexuality, and being ‘offbeat’. However brockhampton is self aware of this and responds to this kind of criticism multiple times on the album. I think Pitchfork put it well in their review when they said it’s part of the defining image of the group where they are aiming to redefine parts of the boy band appeal to go from “teeny bopper bait” to mean “queer” and “offbeat” Also it could even be said the big presence of these themes in their lyrics is part of the idea of “saturation”. They aren’t saturating the market just with their music, but with their non-conforming presence that is against the norm. They are making you get used to them, because they are tired of getting used to others since they don’t fit into social norms. They are forcing people to not just acknowledge their music, but who they are as individual persons who don’t want to be discriminated against or marginalized like they have been their whole life
Yeah...Ameer seems to use the same flow but a lot of other members do a lot of different things. Like Joba does a lot of different things. I feel like the only people that suffer from the “brockhampton flow” are Ameer and Matt, but I feel like Matt is starting to do it differently.
I love Brockhampton but I really don’t get what’s up with Ameer. He sounded so versatile and amazing on the first singles - just compare his verses on GOLD, HEAT and the voice he makes on STAR for example, to one another - and now he’s just the same on every track.
I really don't understand the 'more of the same' complaint, I get that the general brockhampton sound is present in all 3 albums but I think their approach towards this sound is pretty clearly different on each album to the point where I don't think any of the songs would fit if they were put on a different saturation album. That's just me though.
Buffalo Staple Having 3 'unique' albums in a calendar year is really abnormal for the industry and normally it'd be a real sticking point for an artist to not change up their sound much over the course of 3 albums but when would BH have had the opportunity to develop/evolve, right? I think Fantano gets that but he has to mention it each time because it's just accurate and that's one of the boxes to tick on every review script. I think Sat 1&2 are a little less distinct than 3 was from the other 2. Part of me wonders if they took critical feedback in-between Sat 2&3 (if the timeline even works out, still have no idea how they put so much content together so quickly and got it out to people too) that made them so things a little weirder/bigger on Sat 3.
Shawn Diaz well said. I don’t think it would be a fair review if melon head didn’t mention how some of the tracks on each project sounded a little to similar to each other. It’s not a huge problem but the point about them having no time to truly grow and evolve is Definitley a factor

10/10 for me. Shit made me cry, loved every single moment. Their chemistry is unbelievable on here, the production is crazy, and the personal cuts are insane.

We want to see the Eminem "Not Good" review melon !!!
THAT WAS FAST, FANTANO
the production was the best on this album. Good vid
10/10 for me. Shit made me cry, loved every single moment. Their chemistry is unbelievable on here, the production is crazy, and the personal cuts are insane.
