  • Well as we think about a possible combine upgrade for 2021 we're lucky enough that Jeremy Noble from HJV Equipment came last week and offer us a demo of a new 7400 Claas combine and Geringhoff Northstar corn head. It was great to see how the combine performed and how much technology has been integrated into these modern machines.

    Great vid👍fair comparison especially speed, grain quality, fuel usage n servicing. We CaseIH red top 8010 with 40ft front, wouldn’t mind trying Claas 8900. We hadn’t windrow our canola yet, couple weeks maybe? Yet in NSW it unfortunately some farmers have lost there crops to hail damage after 3 years of drought. Have safe harvest👍

    Great to see a video from you. Very interesting to see the newer machine. My Dad is an old farmer from Alberta. He always likes to walk around the old tractors and combines at our local exhibition. Telling me about the ones they used to have and which ones he wished they had.....Cool to see the modern machines in action.

    you will love CLAAS if you end up getting one. The 7400 is a narrow body machine where as the 8000 series is a wide body at about 10 or so inches wider. They have the largest threshing and cleaning area of any machine. There is also a big difference in fuel usage, the CLAAS is great on fuel compared to other brands.

    At the intro I could have sworen, I saw a Halo start to form. The Drone footage music montage was spot-on. How's the saying go? "Smiling husband , happy wife , happy life." Tell Jess we'll just jack up the shopping and add another ring on the bottom. And put a light next to the camera on the unloading auger , and stick a section of 32 inch Culvert out the back of the shop.

    So good to see you back Mark and you were smiling from ear to ear. That is some bit of kit your demoing, soft spot for Class and very popular here in the UK. They are a decent workhorse and if you went with one, especially if you have good dealer support, you would not go far wrong. If you get a chance, try to demo a fendt (an ideal if your lucky), the fuel saving on Fendt combines and tractors is significant. Good to see your keeping sane during harvest and stay safe.

    I realized a few days ago that there has not been any drone footage during this harvest season and viola!! drone footage! Was wondering if you were running the combine AND the drone at the same time. Our boy has some serious skills especially with somebody else's equipment (chuckle, chuckle). I watched Sandi's video when the beast arrived earlier. Is the track equipment any better than wheeled equipment was a question I had. Good to see you back on the small screen and looking forward to maybe a few new ones from you with post harvest updates and maybe, just maybe some new equipment.

    Hi Mark, I've really missed not seeing your videos, but understand that you have had a lot to take care of on your farm. Truly appreciate and enjoyed this video. Its amazing how different things are in those 10 years. I'm curious are you going to try out the newer Case?? I mean there's only one way to do a fair comparison and that's by driving one...lol Got my vote!! I miss being on the farm now more than ever, but sadly the person passed away and everything sold off and plowed under. I'm not in my 30s any longer so now I just have memories, which is better than nothing. Ok enough very happy to hear you once again and still find it interesting, so hope things will settle down where you can share more great videos. Till then take care, stay safe and best always Rusty in OK

    6-7 year old combine? I wish. Im trying to talk my father in law into upgrading one of ours. We have 2 Case combines, a 1997 2188 and a 1990 1640. Theyre not very efficient, no yield monitors or any of the good stuff. Even have to crawl inside to set the sieves and rotor veins.

    • @earlhollar1906
      @earlhollar1906 3 роки тому +1

      Back when I was a kid you never traded in a combine. You just changed out the International Industrial 6 every couple years, in the old Massey Harris 27 and kept on combining. Never heard of a rotor back then it was all beater bars and concaves. And the cab was a red and white canvas umbrella.

    • @carolinafarming5331

      @@earlhollar1906 we still do it old school. No auto steer on anything. All mid 90s tractors with the exception of our 07 and 2018 magnums. There isnt even a monitor in the 2018. Oh yea and we run all International and Case IH. Only green paint on the farm is an old JD 40 and a Gator (they never get used)

      Likely a class 6, a 7 is a "nice to have" but we really don't need a combine that big.
