Syd Mead is a legend! He called himself a “ visual futurist”, and had a heavy influence on the look of Blade Runner.

I got to meat Syd Mead when I was working at Rough Draft studios in Burbank. He was very gracious and funny, and we talked about the Yamato 2520 project he just completed in Japan.

@@TREK-WORLD Yea he was very casual about the whole thing. I had so many things I wanted to say, but kept it animation based. I did want to ask him if he gave tours in his studio but forgot to ask. After working on The Maxx animated show I went back to the east coast because my Japanese friend was coming to America for her and her families first Christmas. Unfortunately I never got back to California.

Upvoted! This is such a better format for these literature reviews than your other style-of sitting in a recliner and showing shaky flashes of the pages from a side angle. I presume you were trying to avoid any remote possible copyright challenge, but it was a funky format. This format rocks!

Hi Pete! Yeah.... I will be sticking with this format going forward for the literature videos. I thought originally that the extreme closeup format in the recliner would have a more "one on one" feel to it. That's also why it was shot with me having to look at the camera at an angle from my sitting direction. But after reviewing them I saw that I missed that kind of feel by a mile. LOL. So I went back to the forward format in my studio. But I do these in batches; so it took quite a while until these finally came through. All the video going forward are shot in this manner. I really appreciate the feedback, until you spoke up I wasn't quite sure I made the right decision.

@@TREK-WORLD Awesome! I’m so glad I could help you with this.
Also, there’s a funny bit of trivia I stumbled across while researching the Red Lobster bankruptcy, of all things. Did you know the original model for the Chicken of the Sea mermaid was Grace Lee Whitney?

Brick Price’s company finally received screen credit in the latest TMP Director’s Edition. While I think that recognition is deserved, it’s still really tragic what they did to the Klingon and (allegedly) to the 3 foot Enterprise models.

I think nearly everyone in the special effects industry at the time of ST-TMP was involved in getting that movie completed.

The shots of the Enterprise in ST:TMP were so smug, hahahaha.

    Do you KNOW??
Richard Coyle takes credit for many of the medical props of the Motion Picture to include the oversized medical scanner. IS THIS TRUE or is it another fabrication of events?
