Mike, I have watched many of your videos about initial actions on arrival. one thing I have not heard you talk about is firefighters gearing up while enroute. The firefighters on the volunteer dept.i was a member of, would put on their hood and strap up the BA so that all they had to do was connect to the mask when we arrived. The scba was mounted behind them. I never see anyone in your videos doing that, so they have to take the extra time after they get off the apparatus.
Definitely an organization that has experience and sticks to their training. (retired 30 years with SBCoFD).

Was that then, or formerly, the home of an impaired person? The porch construction is very unusual and has the feeling of some kind of concealment or defensive earthwork. Also, the windows all appear to be salvaged or bought-at-discount. The intrusive neighbor seems expectantly casual.
Did the first guy going interior have his hood over his coat? Was hard to tell but his crew should have caught that before advancing.

Wears me out. All our county VFD guys do is go POV, Go enroute on radio and then on scene...then crickets.

Yeah I should have closed it. It would have allowed the occupant upstairs to escape. But yeah I still kick myself for camping out there and not closing it.
@@bunker108all good dude live and learn. From what I recall wasn’t that your first shift or something?
@@ronthemogul not mine but yeah both FFs were less than 24hrs into their first shift and driver was on his first upgrade.
