- This is a procession and mass celebrated by Cardinal Burke to consecrate the new priests entering into the fraternity of Christ the King in 2017. The mass is celebrated in the Tridentine form, also known as the Traditional Latin Mass. The ceremony and mass are celebrated at the Church of the Saints Michael and Gaetano in Florence, Italy. The Church of Saints Michael and Gaetano was built in the 17th century, its construction was funded by many noble families in Florence including the Medici, Cardinal Carlo de Medici was particularly concerned about its work and construction.
The Tridentine Mass brings life to the values of true Christian traditional morals and beauty. The chants sung at the mass bring you a sense of belonging in the Church and help those who attend the trident understand the true meaning of the church in the world. As we live today in these hard times, it offers us a chance to reflect on what brings us true inspiration in a world filled with the sin of pride, greed, and cruelty. Christian and Hellenic (Greco-Roman) traditions aim to promote a world where everyone is accepted, and true social and moral justice can be achieved through the values of true stoicism and triumph of a greater sense of meaning.
Florence is a city with a tremendous amount of history and culture that has existed for several centuries. When visiting the magnificent city of Florence you will learn a lot about the history of how the Medici family during the Renaissance era enriched the Italian Penninsula's cultural heritage especially during the reign of Lorenzo Dei Medici also known as Lorenzo il Magnifico (the Magnificent), by encouraging the best painters, sculptors, astronomers, architects and philosophers to enrich and educate the people of Florence and the world. Great minds and artists such Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Niccolò Macchiavelli, Donatello, Filippo Brunelleschi, Galileo, Raffaello Sanzio, Sandro Botticelli, Filippo Lippi, Giorgio Vasari and many more helped enrich Florence, and the region of Tuscany's cultural and intellectual heritage. The Medici had four popes during the Papacy in Rome Leo X, Clement VII, Pius IV and Leo XI and their family's members have been mixed into many of Europe's royal families especially Catherine De Medici who married King Henry II of France during the 16th century.

La Chiesa dei Santi Michele e Gaetano fu edificata nel XVII secolo, la sua costruzione fu finanziata da molte famiglie nobili fiorentine tra cui i Medici, il Cardinale Carlo de Medici si preoccupò particolarmente dei suoi lavori e della sua costruzione.
La Messa Tridentina dà vita ai valori della vera morale e bellezza tradizionali cristiane. @@br.samuel4754 Cardinal Burke doesn't thrill me either. Try to have respect for the person, whether that person did wrong or not in your eyes. He's still a Cardinal. People hate others today which is so wrong. I was born in Rome in the same house as my mother, grandfather, etc... I don't go around lacing into the Pope who also doesn't thrill me. I was taught not to hate and it sounds as if you are doing just that. You can dislike, not hate someone. Hate isn't Christian and hate is what is destroying people and the World over the last 20+ years.
This Mass for me is the most beautiful. My mom's father was a nephew of S.S. Venerabilis Pivs pp XII on his maternal side and his father was a great great nephew of S.S. Leonis pp XIII. I was brought up on this Mass and served as head Altar Boy until I was almost 19, when University came along and I had to go. I go to the Mass in the vernacular of the people when I can't find the Latin Mass. I thank God my Diocese has 2 Latin Mass parishes and they also do the Latin Mass at 11AM in the former Minor Seminary (It is now a home for elderly priests without familues who need care.) on Sundays which is open for the public. They're all packed to capacity with people standing in the back. What shocks me is the amount of people under 50 with young kids. They love this Mass. Please try not to be so hateful and negative towards others. Hate is destroying our World today and breaking up families.

This was aimed at the hypocrisy of some of those who made a show of being religious and wanted to be seen as holy when in fact they were just the opposite. Regarding religious ceremonies and how they were to be conducted; type into your search for Bible passages "keep my ceremonies" and see how many times it is mentioned in Old Testament. Yahweh gave Moses very detailed instructions as to how his worship was to be celebrated and offered. There were to be no additions or subtractions from that which he commanded. The two sons of Aron Nadab and Abiu were struck down dead for offering incense to God (strange fire) that was not part of the prescribed liturgy. It surprises me that the sanctuaries of some of our Catholic churches are not not strewn with dead bodies after some of the antics that are being passed off on the faithful as the Holy Mass.
This is how Jesus tells us to worship:
John 4:23-24 (NIV): "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the spirit and in truth."
Spectacular! Praise be God for blessing us with traditional priests. God deserves the best we can offer Him with the highest of music, ceremony and ,of course, the ancient liturgy.

Anyone watching the video without using this symbolism interpretation ends up writing nonsense comments.

However over-the-top this may appear to the ‘haters’ posting mocking comments it should be remembered that before the Second Vatican Council this would have been the norm for a Cardinal on solemn occasions. I happen to know Cardinal Burke and he is a very humble and holy man who realises completely that this ecclesiastical splendour is entirely for his office and the glory of God and not the man himself. One must look at these things through the eyes of God, for whom they are intended, not the eyes of the world which is of its nature disordered and hostile. Personally, I am of the opinion that Vatican II has been a disaster with empty and closed convents, monasteries, seminaries and a dearth of vocations, not to mention the total collapse of the Faithful going to Mass. By their fruits shall ye know them and Vatican II has demonstrably destroyed the Church from within.
If Vatican II got rid of all this sashaying around in lace, cappae magnae, velvet, furs, and Pom-Pom hats, then good riddance! I love the traditional Mass, but I don’t miss extreme clericalism and clerics strutting about like Pharisees in Roman drag. This procession should have been about the image of the Cross or the Blessed Sacrament; not about this old queen having all these boys carry her accessories.

La Capa Magna NO es un ornamento litúrgico. Se utiliza en CONTADISIMAS ocasiones, y solo para entrada y la salida procesional en grandes solemnidades. El prelado que la viste, tiene que quitarsela al llegar a la sede, para posteriormente poderse acercar al altar. Por cierto... A que tanto escandalo???? Más vale ver esto, que sacerdotes celebrando misa vestidos de payaso, a procesiones con pachamamas por los jardines del Vaticano, o a curitas neo-marxistas celebrando con casullas bordadas con la hoz y el martillo.

Del tutto sbagliata questa considerazione. A Dio si dà tutto il meglio e il più prezioso. Persino San Francesco o il Curato D'Ars che conducevano un'esistenza poverissima, per la liturgia pretendevano tutte le cose più belle e ricche per adorare ed onorare Dio.
