1:19 I wonder how many takes it took tim and Lee to get that train ticket skit down pat 😁 Probably not too long actually now come to think of it, they're both geniuses 👍
It's entertaining, but the sketches are pretty simple and based on the old "hit and miss" format. In Big Train the sketches were often a lot more nuanced and cleverly observed and didn't rely so heavily on puns and visual comedy, which gives it the edge on this for me. Plus I love surrealist humour.
some great silly visual gags in these series. I really do wish they pursued the female character that made fun of peoples woes struggles and pain "oooh Ive broke my arm, oooh and my leg" seemed it had peerfect Fast Show like mileage
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plains?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
You must live on a very small planet. His abysmal attempts at humour on that dreadful ITV quiz show he hosts fall flatter than a pancake. This scripted crap is even worse.
@@djglennyboy I wouldn't mind doing some sketches, a bit like the ones on the sketch show, but I don't know how to start writing them. Do you have any tips? Also I'm only 13 (nearly 14 tho) but I want to try to get into comedy early✨

It's Kitty's Aussie accent that makes it funny. When she states that the ship hit 'an arse-berg'
What a cracking show this was, the brits are so funny 😂😂😂

Jim tavare is so underrated as well, looks like the meat hammer and plaster was method
Loved that big pile of keys at 12:40. Good one.
Me too, funny and surreal. Made me think of all the now defunct keys there have been in my life.
The whole show is funny. Use to watch it when it was on tv, hahahaha, gd to be able to watch it here😂😂😂

Pity about the quality but you have to allow for the tech at the time etc. Damn good show - and has Kitty Flanagan! Win!

If you've ever seen Lee Mack you'll see he's pretty solid and locking in incredibly complicated scripts. He's a genius
The sketch about fighting to pay the bill actually happened in Vietnam a few years ago a guy got stabbed to death. 😮
Thank you for the upload!

This is a good enough show but Big Train simply on another level.

You're in luck, the character does continue in Karen Taylor's own sketch show, 'Touch Me I'm Karen Taylor', the eps are all on UA-cam I think.
Well fark me, I never knew Kitty is a Pommy.
She's Aussie.
4:27 Relatable British culture.

Is that the dude off Hills have eyes?
the gun/bill sketch.....did the sketch show steal it from Man Stroke Woman or the other way round? Compare on youtube

I don't understand the "I got tights in my ladder" joke.
You get a ladder in your tights, when you get a hole in them, they’ve just reversed it :)
@@olivehope04 Ok, so a "ladder" is like a "run in your stocking" where I am. Got it, thanks OliviaG!

Julia Hopewell
D’you think maybe that’s why the show got a release in Australia. I don’t think they made DVDs for the UK did they?
