    Most people dont know that plastic scrap is usually worth as much as stainless steel. Recycling is profitable. One mans waste is another's raw material..
    The root of the problem is the federal reserve, printing money and picking the winners with bail outs. Monopoly companies supporting big oil dont want to recycle and dont want you to recycle. If the world used Bitcoin as the base currency, then free market natural forces would come back into equilibrium. We would be growing cannabis seed for ethanol and making bioplastics sustainably, which should be the most profitable way, but because of corrupted regulation and giant money distortions... well we have plastic islands
