- This song was written as a tribute to Kumu Levon Ohai and his works of inspiring others to pursue the wisdom of herbal healthcare: La'au Lapa'au here in Hawaii. The wisdom of our elders and their connection with plant medicine is something that needs to be shared with our communities and passed down thru the generations.
Grateful for the inspiration from Kumu Ohai which led me to become a farmer of many different plant medicines.

From including uncles name in your mele, to listing how we use each herb as medicine. The mana'o of la'au lapa'au will move through you and in to others. I just hope that others will approach Hawaiian culture in the same respect rather than watching your interpretation of our culture and using it as a basis for their seeking of ancient wisdom.
