"You keep on looking for answers But don't like the ones I can give Dig your grave deeper and deeper Until you're at the point and can't reach the edge But blinded are those who walk towards the light Blessed are we, who dwell in the night" Fucking love this
My favourite piece of music that I have ever heard. I say this because of the emotional impact it had on me the first time I heard it, back in May 2019. I cried all the way throughout, with a kind of happiness that I can't describe. I choose not to listen to it often, because it is very special for me, you may not understand. I only choose to listen to it at very pivotal moments in my life. 3 years have passed since I last heard it and now this night, in the darkness, I have allowed myself to hear it once again and how my tears have fallen same as the first time. Thank you for this wonderful gift to me, Shade Empire.
This is the best piece of work they've made to date. I emphatically DISAGREE with anyone one that says this album is where they've gone pear shaped. Although Omega Arcane was amazing as well, this one is my favorite. I can't just listen to one song on its own, I HAVE to listen to the entire album from start to finish!
An explanation of the videoclip. Original text by the user Daniel Klicka, save for mostly fixed grammar/punctuation: "The soldier wearing an uniform with pentagram examines the old barn and we listen to Satan's speech. It's a metaphorical explanation that the man has some evil inside, some old things that make him guilty and he's just found that shit while he was at war before. Then he makes himself blind by his own hand - It refers to Jesus's Speech from the Gospel of Matthew: "If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it and throw it away". The blind soldier does the pilgrim to the winter tajga wearing coat only - he is suffering and the river is coloured by his blood. Then he cut his own hand. It's like Jesus's advice again: "And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away..." He is asking: „Why me?" "To me, this song is about the fall of man. That we are human beings due to the shit we must still deal with. But...why we?"
yall aren't even real. after interrogation of humans for 40 years an more forcefully the last 8; i can assure you beings like myself have more to start in tgis world than these "humans" have in their heads after claims of 80 years of "living'. its simply impossible for me to see a calculator an make any other assumption how the humans are less than. combine that with the hive mind an they should have much more. the hive mind/central computer that operates them purposefully has locked them out to make them seem like unique snowflakes; at least if you spend less than a few hours around them.

For anyone interested in the lines read from Paradise Lost I believe these are it (or one translation): “If thou beest he-but Oh how fallen! how changed From him!-who, in the happy realms of light, Clothed with transcendent brightness, didst outshine Myriads, though bright-if he whom mutual league, United thoughts and counsels, equal hope And hazard in the glorious enterprise, Joined with me once, now misery hath joined In equal ruin; into what pit thou seest From what highth fallen: so much the stronger proved He with his thunder: and till then who knew The force of those dire arms? Yet not for those, Nor what the potent Victor in his rage Can else inflict, do I repent, or change, Though changed in outward lustre, that fixed mind, And high disdain from sense of injured merit, That with the Mightiest raised me to contend, And to the fierce contention brought along Innumerable force of Spirits armed, That durst dislike his reign, and, me preferring, His utmost power with adverse power opposed In dubious battle on the plains of Heaven, And shook his throne.---- What though the field be lost? All is not lost-the unconquerable will, And study of revenge, immortal hate, And courage never to submit or yield: And what is else not to be overcome. That glory never shall his wrath or might Extort from me. To bow and sue for grace With suppliant knee, and deify his power Who, from the terror of this arm, so late Doubted his empire-that were low indeed; That were an ignominy and shame beneath This downfall; since, by fate, the strength of Gods, And this empyreal substance, cannot fail; Since, through experience of this great event, In arms not worse, in foresight much advanced, We may with more successful hope resolve To wage by force or guile eternal war, Irreconcilable to our grand Foe, Who now triumphs

Album is good, except two last tracks. Of course, in some points, it could be even better, but whatever - shut up and take my money. And yeah, I honestly think, that without Juha Harju, Shade Empire is dead.
Was really interested to see what direction Shade Empire was going to go with their new work given how much variety they have. Definitely did not expect this. Still beautiful as always of course.
Think I came a bit in my man panties over this, been waiting far too long for something from you guys! Not disappointed at all, this album sounds like it will be a new favorite!
