I bought every album 2 3 4 times still buying it on Spotify. JTs music is my life soundtrack. I’ve been exercising to it my whole life basically. I’m extremely grateful for the music.
Anything pre 2000. All JT solo albums and GLP (Get Low Playas) albums plus each individual had albums Seff tha Gaffla, San Quin, D-Moe tha Youngsta. Straight heat
Whatever the modern beefs are (because I really don't pay attention) JT is a walking, talking, living, breathing master class. Shout to DREGS! *edit* Definitely need that pt. 2!!!
Dope Interview. I'm from Dago and was tapped into what JT was doing in the 90's, his hustle is impeccable and it seemed like he shared game with everybody. Something Crucial is one of my favorite albums.
I’m from Omaha,Ne, and we have always had love for the “Bay”. I was Djng and bumping “Figga “hella hard back in the 90s . Great interview! He’s definitely a legend!
Great interview man! Can’t wait for round 2 with the Kevin Bacon of hip hop. Never knew he had connections with Jay Z and I remember that Memphis Bleek thing and it didn’t go off because people knew game back then and knew there was already a get low so copying wasn’t the thing to do
You don't need an AI Cougnut song. Walker B from Lakeview had the rights to Cougnuts unreleased tracks. I heard a few. Plotting in my mansion is one of them.
JT reminds me of Prince. Prince tried to warn artists about deals and the internet. No one listened bc Prince's music wasn't as popular, and his personality was hit or miss. I see the same thing happening with JT.
JT a solid dude. While engineering and djing for Juvenile in 2001 JT brung us to Canal in the Bay and let us go crazy at a clothing store then we recorded at his studio later that night. I didn’t even know who he was at the time.
back around 2009 i randomly found myself standing next to JT in the line for room 145 at 850 (traffic line). We talked a bit he was real cool and approachable. But let me tell you lol when he got his turn up at the window he asked the lady working how many points he has on his driving record at that time and she told him he had 8, i was in shock.
What ever happened to the group UDI? My sister husband father lived in frisco and every summer he’d goblin and bring back hella CD’s And I always Rember that song “Had a baby by the wrong bitch” Lmao That was my shit This is how we ride represent that golden state From the 415 to the 209 let’s ride West side Smoove E os hella hard too Did a lot of work with furl He can gás tho He got his own style and it’s different but he def gas shit and can slap on records with furl and nickitina
"Puttin in work young nigga gotta come up quick I aint no herky jerk nigga so fuck that shit".... I dont even know the artist name but I remember that bar from that album and the name of the song was puttin in work
Much respect to yall and JT. I bet Hack the Hood, Black Girls Code, Tara Reed of No Code, or even "Indie Hackers" run by two Black brothers would make some dope apps w/ Figg.
……..such a smart business man!!!,,,,,, and lets not forget his wife though, behind every sucessful man there usually a smart woman backing them up, i wouldnt be where im at today if it wasnt for my wife, been by her side for over 18 yrs now!!
One question…. Why is it that none of the Original Bay Bosses sign artists from other cities in the Bay? They all stick to they sections when grabbing talent. I always thought that stopped the movement. It may be time to change that but I’d love to hear others opinions but better from the horses mouth.
I’ve been a huge fan of JT since 93. I mean a BIG fan. But I can never TELL who this guy really is. This interview looks like the JT I look dearly up to. The other JT from Africa and all the movies and shenanigans got me not a fan at all. I believe in JT still, I just hope he’s a straight shooter in the game. He’s music in the 90s was on hit . Legendary
Great interview. Nice to see long form conversations instead of UA-cam rap drama.
Thanks for sharing JT
Agreed!
Yes indeed
I've been a Big Fan since the jump with JT The Bigga Figga ❤
Much love & Respect to the Crew & Creators over there 💯💪😎👍👑⚡🖤⚡👑

Phunky Phat graphics were doing all the album covers in Bay back then
Jt had a huge street game. I remember them pulling up on Berlington ave with cars deep and giving everyone a cd of his new album. Shit was 🔥 too
I bought every album 2 3 4 times still buying it on Spotify. JTs music is my life soundtrack. I’ve been exercising to it my whole life basically. I’m extremely grateful for the music.

JT's comments about the bay are dead on. i left to nyc 12 years ago because i saw the writing on the wall. it just aint poppin out there whatsoever
You don't need an AI Cougnut song. Walker B from Lakeview had the rights to Cougnuts unreleased tracks. I heard a few. Plotting in my mansion is one of them.
I used to watch Demons Of The Mind all the time at The Wharf bitd. Sped up Electro, Struttin'..
